Thanks, Mike! I'm hoping he's a difference maker at whichever position he ends up at. A 6'6" guy sounds like ideal size for a tight end.

Brown is an interesting prospect. I'd love to sit in the coaches' meeting where they lobby for him.

This guy is talented and versatile. I pray that this new staff makes better early evaluations and choices than the last staff with these type of athletes..
Too often, the old staff wasted precious years of eligibility as those players were allowed to float between positions with no clear plan or direction.
Some, like Whaley and Melton, were able to overcome Brown & Co's indecisiveness/inertia before it was too late. But others with potential, like Cobbs or the long list of hybid TE/WR/H-Back/FBs, simply disappeared without a trace. (there are other perhaps better examples but I have not had coffee yet and can't remember). This was always a frustrating aspect for me as scholarship eligibility is a wasting asset -- it is not something to screw around with it.
It is one thing to identify, recruit and sign these guys. What you do with them after that is something else entirely. Coach Strong seems to have an especially keen eye for defensive talent. Thus, if Brown does end up on the DL from the outset, as the majority seem to be assuming at this point, its likely Strong played a hand in that decision and I would take it as a good sign. Whether these new coaches can "Deliver Brown" will be a good early case study for us.

He (Strong) taught me more in 30 minutes about football than I've learned in three years at high school. I'll play the fox position - basically like [a guy] that can rush the passer or drop back in coverage. It's what I really like to do."
"Man… they were jacked up! They were fired up," the newest Texas commitment said about the UT staff when he called him earlier. "I'm done with everything basically."

Potential monster... More athletic Demontre Moore that aggie had. Will be scary dropping in to coverage at 6'6

That's a whole lot of length coming off the end or dropping back in coverage. Looking forward to watch his development.
