I am glad to see Colt McCoy getting a chance to succeed and prove himself in the NFL. I am a fan of
and not pulling against RGIII. I have admired RG's body of work, certainly as to college football...in his
time at Baylor. I think RG is a great player and a class guy...but foremost, I always want ex-Longhorns
to succeed in whatever they aspire to do. So, sorry for RG's injuries and lack of success, but...GO COLT,

Is Briles coaching to a system? Is that how he develops qbs to some success so quickly, much like Leach did?
System qbs are generally not successful in the NFL. Time will tell, but I suspect that is the case. This can be debated, ad nauseum, and the qb position is one of the most labor intensive and coaching intensive, if not the most labor and coaching intensive of all. It is also the position with the highest 'failure' rate. I watched Lam Jones in a match race against Curtis Dickey once with my Dad and asked him a question which was typical of our conversations at athletic events. The question? "What makes these two so much faster than everyone else?" His answer? "They were born with god-given ability, and they have been fortunate enough to avoid an injury that would slow them down." He went on to say that the wrong injury, even a slight one, could slow them enough from world-class speed to simply very fast. I've thought about that over the years. He was right.
I wish Colt success. He deserves it. He has overcome obstacles, as has RGIII, and he has persevered-with dignity and character. I have no doubt he will exhibit great leadership qualities, be well prepared, and give it his all. He will take it in stride.

Wow. Jay Gruden clearly won whatever power struggle there might have been. Its his team and he'll start whoever he thinks gives him the best shot to win. Wonder if RGIII asks to go elsewhere this off-season.
It's double for me as I want Indy to lose anyways.
Moreover, I always felt Colt never really had a fair shot in the pros. This is such a big opportunity for him. I don't think that much of Gruden as a head coach right now, but am glad he is giving Colt a look. It is the right call, if perhaps overdue.
I hope this game turns into a QB duel with Washington ahead in the 4th. You usually need a big lead to hold off Luck, who always seem to be able to rally his team late. Should be fun.

Colts stats were really good. Only saw a few plays on red zone so don't know how he 'looked'.
I do know is like to throw against the WAS secondary. Good gawd.
Anyway good for colt. 392 and 3/0 ain't bad.
