Before the polls come out, I thought I would spend a few minutes taking a look at the RPI for the Big 12 teams.

Right now the Big 12 as a whole is in a lot of trouble. According to Boyds World and Warren Nolan the Big 12 is the 6th best conference out of 32. ACC, SEC, PAC 12, Conference USA, and the WCC are all rated above the Big 12. I can not remember a time when the Big 12 was rated that low. This is really going to hurt the Big 12 when it comes time for tournament selection time.

Leading the Big 12 are the Aggies, they are currently have a very strong resume with an RPI of 4 and a very strong ISR. The only thing that is hurting them, is that they have a SOS of 92. Which means that they do not have a lot of wiggle room the rest of the season if they want to host a Regional and a Super Regional.

Baylor is 8th in the RPI and also have a very strong ISR according to Boyds World. The Bears strength of schedule is currently sitting at a 48 and are in great position to be at home come tournament time.

Texas on the other hand has an RPI of 40 and also have a strong ISR. The one thing that is helping Texas' out is that they have a strong SOS, they are currently sitting at 11th. Texas is looking at a 2 seed for the Tournament and the selection committee would be more than happy to send Texas on the road as they know that their fans travel real well.

The rest of the BIG 12;

Oklahoma's RPI is a 88

Texas Tech 99

Kansas State 109

Missouri 111

Oklahoma State 154

Kansas 188

So, the bottom 6 are really dragging the the Big 12 down.

If we can have success against both Aggy and Baylor we will be in great shape. Baylor is ranked 8th! The guys are playing really good ball and as long as they win series things are looking up. Garrido needs to quite screwing with the lineup tho.
