Chip may be Given the breaking news story in the end but he's too all over the place for me to pay much attention to now. And no fisher on the list? That's just not correct by too many people. The notion SP would be scared UT gets turned down is laughable to me. That doesn't for his MO

I just can't buy guys like red McCombs, hicks, Rowling etc pushed mack out, hired Patterson along with some of the same people on the coaching committee just so SP can hand the keys to a James Franklin type over something better.

Texas is still big game hunting per Jesus. Steve Patterson didnt come to Texas to put his career on the chopping block out of the gate to hire a lesser guy if better ones want to be here. IT is not sold on chips/bohls strong talk. Franklin is not going to be hired by UT. Not even a real candidate per several including shaunsters. It's silly to really talk about with the rape situation around that team.

Unfortunately, if our coach comes from this pack, our regents and donors who chased Saban for the last year and told everyone he was coming have set the fan base up for complete failure. You don't promise a man a blind date with a supermodel and then roll out Rosanne Barr.

I'm not commenting on the quality of these coaches - I think they all might ultimately be successful - but rather the anticipation of an elite coach and the fan perception of this group of four. The Saban hunt and surrounding circus has put Patterson in a tough position if it doesn't pay dividends...

People really think we are getting Saban, I could understand the first time but reall? Come on guys. Would I like Saban, yes. Would he win, yes. But he will be gone in a few years and we are left in this position looking for a coach again. We need to find a young coach and restock the program. I honestly doubt Saban, control freak he is that he wants big money/ political infighting around him. Same thing with Jim harbaugh, if he's not happy with 49'ers management why would he like ours?

for once i believe him..although if thats order i would move Dantonio ahead but its whatever..i want saban but i wouldnt call it settling for Briles..

If you think about it, we are all going to be gone in a few years. If Saban wants to come to Texas, take him and worry about who is after him later. Some 26 year old kid out there is going to kill it as a college football coach. None of know who he is yet, but in time he will reveal himself. In the mean time. Saban would be a good place filler as head coach.

Chip Brown on @NewSchoolSS this morning gave his top 2 possible Texas candidates as Fisher and Briles. .. He also said that Strong and Franklin have already been interviewed...

Get ready. Sadly, I think we're in for a huge disappointment. Not that I think any of the guys Chip mentioned wouldn't do better than Mack, but it wont be the "splash" we all covet.
