Chat with former Texas QB Shannon Kelley at 10pm CST tonight!

We're excited that Shannon Kelley will be stopping by the site tonight to talk football in the chat room. You can click that link to get to the chat room, or find it under the "Social" tab in the main horizontal menu.

Shannon offered some insight during the season to help us understand the game. Now that Charlie Strong's first year is in the rear view mirror, he's ready to talk about what we saw on the field.

Kelley currently serves as the Assistant head coach and Running backs coach at Houston Baptist University. He recruits Houston and San Antonio for HBU, so get some recruiting questions ready.

Will somebody please ask him this question on my behalf, "Shannon, why was the UT offense so woefully unprepared for Arkansas? I saw no improvisation or creativity in that offensive game plan. Help me understand our rationale for being so plain vanilla when we obviously didn't match up well with their defense. For example, we could've lined up Daje as a Wildcat QB just to change things up. We got nothing. It was painful to watch."

I would appreciate if Shannon could address the difference & the degree of difficulty it is to coach a young quarterback to play in a spread offense vs a "pro style" offense.  Is it easier to learn the spread?  If so does it mean we have to recruit a different type athlete depending on which system we intend to run.  Could this explain some of the mentioned slow progress of both Swoopes & Heard?
