According to Bruce Feldman, the coaching search at Tulsa might zero in on Brennan Marion. In a tweet just a short while ago, Feldman posted:

Tulsa has fired Philip Montgomery. Former TU stars G.J. Kinne and Brennan Marion both are expected to be candidates among a solid group with a lot of local ties. Here's how we see the Tulsa coaching search shaping up:

I'd expect Kinne to be the first choice. Either him or Tulsa may go hard after the current HS coach at Bixby or Owasso.

I don't expect Marion to stay more than a 2 years at Texas. Dude is going to be a HC soon. Hopefully we get another year.

The coach at Owasso, Bill Blankenship, was already fired once at Tulsa. I don't see him going back.

He’s been a mercenary. Needs to round out the resume with a HC spot. Maybe he returns if he leaves?
He is, yes. I was hoping to get 2 or 3 years with him. Such a crazy and quick rise up the ranks if he does indeed land a HC gig.

His age and inexperience may lead Tulsa to go a different route but the hire makes sense for them - a young, innovative up and coming alum.

I feel like Brennan got an interview out of respect given his alum status. Also to keep a positive relationship there for a future potential hire. I don't know that he is ready for a HC gig quite yet. He has yet to be a coordinator even at the major level of football.

I think when he leaves Texas it'll be as an OC somewhere where he is calling the plays. If that goes well, I imagine he'll be a HC shortly after that.
