Break out Players?

Texas has talent, I don't think there is any question, maybe not as much as it has had in the past, but there are players w skill on this team. I think most would agree, the guys who could be considered play makers were severely underutilized. With that said who do you guys think will emerge, or reemerge as a play maker in 2014?

Daje Johnson (pending grades)

Jalen Overstreet (pending grades)

Penter Jenkins

Jaxon Shipley

Joe Bergeron

David Ash

Someone else?

I think Daje, if he can get his "crap" together has the most to gain from the new staff. He is an elite play maker, he needs direction, I think he finds it. Number two for me is Peter Jenkins. A very talented player, good size, speed, and strength..not why he did not play more this year. I look to see him a lot next season especially if Steve ends up at DE.

I think is David Ash..if... He stays healthy will be the brightest spot offensively.

Hassan Ridgeway will be one of the best defensive players on the team next year, kid is special. Would have started this year, if he wasn't behind Whaley and Jackson. I said when Ridgeway came out of high school he would end up being a first round pick in the NFL. I stand by that after what I saw in Spring and Fall practices. Really a shame that Mack couldn't find minutes for him this year.

He's likely to get a ton of spring reps. He needs them too. I have the feeling that he is going to have to impress as much as he can before Jerrod is on campus.

Yeah, I don't see the enthusiasm for Swoopes. Admittedly it is way too small a sample size but he looked almost lumbering to me. Or maybe a better descritpion was the game seemed too fast for him, which again I know can or maybe should be expected.

I would bet that Strong moves Sanders to defense. He has got insane potential at DB, it is his best position IMO, don't know what the previous staff was thinking on that front.

I think Sanders only wanted to play offense. If he is truly 6' or 5'11. then he could dominate as a DB.

I hafta go with Swoopes. I think he ends up being our QB next year. I just dont believe Ash makes it back, or if he does he gets hit again and its over then. SO Swoopes has to be a difference maker and I think he will. If Watson gives him all his attention which he will Swoopes will turn heads by fall camp!
