Saban's an awfully big name to use as a smokescreen. Seems like a bad idea that could make people more mad and disappointed than it's worth just to throw people off the scent.

I wish everyone would go to the thread about introducing yourselves. I see people posting other posters real names and I have no idea of who they are referring to...sorta like being in a foreign country and they speak their language in your presence

I am on OB's and IT. Love this new site as well. Love that McPhaul, Santa Gertrudas, etc are on the board. Maybe you should recruit El Guapo as well. How about UTX? Serious question.

Is Saban a fantasy or a possible reality? So many things all over the place. Not that anyone will know except Saban and the hiring committee but where do we stand? My friends, who are very anti Texas say it is a pipe dream. They are jeolous of course, but they cannot fathom why he would leave Alabama. Give me some ammo.

That will take some getting used to. Many of you new folks knew each other on other sites. Us here knew each other going back of course.

Really hard to imagine Saban leaving Bama and coming to Austin - or anywhere, unless Texas gives him a check and says "fill in the blanks". He's no doubt a great coach, but he's also 61'ish and I would like to see someone younger coming here, someone who will be successful and be here for several years. Also, needs a personality - something Saban seriously lacks. Texas should be able to go get whoever they want. Just my opinion.......
