I agreeThat's what happens when you let the emotional crowd force a HC hire.
Love Terry, but CDC should've put his foot down and did what was best for the program.
UCF outrebounded us 37-22 with multiple offensive rebounds in the 2nd half. We were turrible on the boards, clear lack of hustle! We have struggled against the bottom of the conference. I’m afraid it’s going to be a long year.
Defense and rebounding are lacking.
I normally love to be right but this is a case I wished I’d been wrong…..but I wasn’t.It pains me to say this but we all need to prepare for a return to mediocrity.
Beard might be the best coach in college basketball and we were right to part ways but he left us in awful situation.
Some might disagree but everything we accomplished this year was because of Beard. He brought the guys in and prepared them for the season. Rodney inherited a squad and they did what they had prepared to do.
Admin was basically forced to hire Coach Terry “Coach of the Year” because he didn’t screw up Beards team.
Terry, who has had a career of being average (that’s being nice) now has a four year contract at a program he wouldn’t even get an HC interview for under normally circumstances and now he’s the guy.
We did the right thing and now we must pay the piper
I'm not so sure parting ways was the right decision. As usual with today's society, simply making an accusation makes someone guilty in the eyes of the masses (which is BS). There was a retraction from the accuser and no conviction. So we let the best coach in CBB walk because of (again) letting emotional reactions force decisions.I normally love to be right but this is a case I wished I’d been wrong…..but I wasn’t.
It seems like I cut my teeth with Texas being elite in football, baseball, women's basketball.... and mediocre in men's basketball. Who says history doesn't repeat itself?Texas has never been known as a basketball school. Over the years a injury, coach, lose a recruit etc.has hurt. or some how ruined a season. Jinx prehaps?
And on the Horns down thing, Win the game and they will be easier to take. Always nice to point at the scoreboard.
I am curious about how CDC might be able to change this. ADs in the past seemed more focused on football only but CDC does not seem content with any sport on campus being anything other than elite. Basketball was well on its way with Coach Beard until his off the court issues derailed that.It seems like I cut my teeth with Texas being elite in football, baseball, women's basketball.... and mediocre in men's basketball. Who says history doesn't repeat itself?
If we don't make the NCAA Tournament and Donovan is interested, it's a no-brainer. But I'd first see if Jay Wright is interested (I know he's a pipe dream). Might as well try.I think the coaching candidates available will also play a role as to what will be done. For example, if Billy Donovan gets fired by the Bulls and is interested in the job, CDC has to give that serious consideration, especially if we finish 4-14 to 6-12 in conference.
Maybe the Baylor starters have Covid? How is Texas a -3.5 favorite over Baylor today? Surely that isn’t correct.
