I don't think it's an either or choice of what to watch but rather an "in addition to" type thing. While the NBA may not be football in popularity here in the states, the revenue for NBA is world wide. The league is extremely diverse and isn't going anywhere. What I think is as the more elite/popular high school kids who go the G league/Europe route for a couple of years before they go to the NBA, the more popular those "minor" leagues will become. Hence increasing viewership. And while the lack of "stars" will affect the college game some, I do believe the players who choose the college route will stay in school longer which will in turn make the college game better.
I'll simply disagree. Those kids coming out of high school – nobody knows who they are. They haven't made it yet. And they're playing against other players who haven't made it yet.

Name one player on the Frisco Roughriders.

Thats what I mean.

Discovery has numerous channels on cable TV. Lets say 15 of them although its probably more. So with 15 channels and hundreds of shows – what did they do? They came out with Discovery-Plus, where you can watch hours more of those same shows.

Discovery on regular cable has more shows than the average human being can watch. And now they will pour more of that out? I'm predicting a big bust for Discovery Plus.

The market will only bear so much. If it wasn't for China, the NBA wouldn't be able to pay their salaries. Their viewership has dropped several times due to players saying things that hurt everyone else in the league. They criticize things in America while turning their heads to the slave labor required to make their glorious shoes.

Because of China, the NBA is still alive. The NBA's future, imo, is in China.

oh yeah, you can watch Israeli professional basketball league if you want to on sky network & skysports (worldwide network with just about everything).

I think it will be a lot like minor league baseball where there will be some millionaire talents that will hone up their skills until called up by the big leagues (NBA).

I'm all for it. I think it's ridiculous that functioning American monopolies can tell an adult that he cant get paid for his talents. that doesnt work in just about anything else.  Basketball is not that important nor dangerous to put aside free market rights, IMO.  Luka Doncic was playing with Real Madrid at 16 but he wouldnt be able to in the US?  silly

If you can't buy beer, you should not be leaving school behind to play hoops. You need that K-12 education at the minimum.

we can agree to disagree.  What is the purpose of education? This is where our socialist education system has brainwashed everyone.  If you ask a teacher (and I was married to one), it is get MORE education to get mo-betta job. OTOH, if educators had a freedom and free market perspective, the response would be different. People need to be educated enough to be competitive in the marketplace. It doesnt take 12 yrs to be able to read, write, and do basic math. People get a lot of education, they expect a high paying J-O-B and a lot of them are miserable.

We won WW2 with about an 8th grade educated military. When I first went into the army as an private, some of our vietnam holdover sergeants had to have their mail read to them but they were good soldiers. Granted, that wouldnt fly in today's military culture and high tech systems... but I'm not sure we are better at soldiering right now.

My pet peeve just got poked. The minimum age for alcohol and tobacco needs to be 18 or the legal age for enlistment needs to be increased to 21.
agree. you can vote (arguably one of the most important privileges if taken seriously). you can go in the military at age 17, drive a multi, multi million dollar piece of equipment designed to blow up things and kill people but I couldnt sit down and have a beer with them to relax? ridiculous. Based on my experienced, the immature knucklehead at age 18 is going to be an immature knucklehead at 21. The sooner he gets it out of his system and realizes there are consequences the better.

I spent a lot of time in Germany and several tours in Korea. These rules dont apply there and as a leader, I had less problems with soldiers doing stupid crap (drinking or not) overseas than here in the US. Every young guy I run across that's either in or going in the military, I encourage them to try hard to get their first assignment overseas - too much crap in the US

If you have someone willing to pay for a four-year degree, you take it. Thats just me.

According to Outkick, ratings on ABC, ESPN and TNT are down a staggering average of 25% from 2019. Broadcasts on TNT are down 19%, ESPN broadcasts are down 26% and ABC broadcasts are down 25%, according to the same report.

Even more shocking, Outkick reported that since the 2011-12 season, broadcasts on ABC are down 45%! To put it as simply as possible, the NBA is a world of trouble right now when it comes to TV ratings.

wait!.....are you guys saying the NBA is still operating?....Now I am shocked!

Someone refresh my memory. I thought there was a transfer that I thought was going to announce this Friday. Does that ring a bell to anyone?
