Basketball News/Recruiting Thread

Man both our basketball teams held such promise at the beginning of the season.

The women's team has been beset by nagging injuries and the "flood of newcomers" inconsistency. Now they lost their best player perhaps for the season.

And now this. Minimum a few games suspension, worst case, he is gone.

So bummed.

I'm an optimist but in today's society and if this was done to his wife, I don't see how he's not done. I know everyone's innocent until proven guilty but it aint looking good.

If it's a woman, he's gone and probably done coaching at any level (if found guilty). Man, he had the world in his hands. I'm beyond bummed.
Could be. Hopefully when the facts come out it's not so bad that firing is the only option.

Hopefully it's something his family and the University can address and move forward from.

Alot of coaches around the country are about to be getting hefty raises. Anytime Texas gets an opening or even looks like they might get an opening, schools start ponying up to their guy.

BREAKING: Prominent Austin attorney Perry Minton, representing Beard says: "Coach Beard is 100 percent innocent of these charges. He should have never been arrested. The complainant wants him released immediately and all charges dismissed. It is truly inconceivable."

Beard's attorney, Perry Minton, stated the following:

I know that is lawyer speak to the public, but this society is so quick to crucify someone before all facts are known.  Maybe, just maybe he is innocent.  I know it didn't look good, but people have been falsely arrested before.  If he did anything like they said, then yeah he should be gone, but let's all wait before we start throwing the stones.

I had seen people stating it was the daughter's boyfriend he caught. But this report clearly says it was a woman and other reports clearly say it was his fiance.

Bye, Chris. See you never.
