Hello Willie,
Let's call it a nite my friend.
Let's call it a nite my friend.

SignUp Now!Orangeman, what legal and NCAA consequences are you referring to? Please cite to specific NCAA bylaws so I can look them up. Thanks.I don't even know why Baghorn speaks considering he's guarantee comes with both legal and NCAA consequences. I also don't follow willies "friend" story. I say Baghorn needs to put his entire net worth on a bet in vegas. You'd win big with their odds.
He has no facts or sources....just his own opinion.Orangeman, what legal and NCAA consequences are you referring to? Please cite to specific NCAA bylaws so I can look them up. Thanks.
I went back to the first post and read every post Willie. What I noticed is that you were complimented by at least a dozen posters, welcomed here, and that the great majority of arguing was between you and Baghorn. Additionally you initated a confrontational tone and have escalated it by calling all of us condescending and pompous. This on a LONGHORN board and one where the great majority of posters were very gracious towards you. I suspect some of this is stemming from a fear that Saban might leave and then you might be back wandering in the desert as we have for the past 4 years. If I were your personal counselor I would tell you to relax. It is doubtful.thank you!
please go back and read from the start. It will make all the difference.
I can't say "I don't care if Saban leaves or not" because I want him to stay. But that is not the reason for my post here on your board (and I do understand what you say about going onto another team's board). All I ever wanted was to know why, Texas fans though they could outspend Bama fans for a football coach! You can not pay a coach enough that a major program fan base like Alabama can't easily match, goodness, we are only talking about at most $10 million a year, that is chump change for any major program.
I was then told repeatedly that I just didn't get it, that Texas was so stinking rich that nothing else mattered.
I come from an affluent family, and an affluent town (Tuscaloosa) and to be told, WHEN I KNOW BETTER, that we are irrelevant, and the other party has NO idea of the facts, just that they are Texas, well, it got me going so to speak.
If Saban wants to leave, I truly wish him the best and say God Speed.
I hope Texas will find the right coach, regardless, because college football is best when the top programs are in play against one another.
I wish NO ILL WILL against anybody
I didn't come here for that, read the thread from the start.
to put it in other terms:
Your daughter is BEAUTIFUL!!!!
she lives in Alabama
therefore she isn't as pretty as Texas girls..........and in comparison, just isn't that pretty at all.
But to the doubters, you check my sources, the GQ magazine thing is no joke
Good luck getting Baghorn to divulge anything. He is a pretender to the throne folks.
Regardless of how it works out, wish Texas the best, but the condescension on this forum is amazing.
if GQ has article with Saban going to Texas you would google GQ in a heartbeatI can google anything and everything I want to. GQ doesn't fall into either category. Of course I work and I work hard and I'm pretty good at what I do. What the hell does that have to do with anything being discussed here? ( moonshine must be kicking your bubba ass).
As far as #3 goes, even though you left out #1 and #2, I still have no damned idea what you are referring too. I can only assume you missed something/misread something somewhere along the way. Maybe it's the Alabama Ed-u-ma-kation you received.
This is where your sources and mine aren't aligned. While we have heard similar things in regards to the new contract, my guy confirmed that Saban had lost "a lot" of money on bad investments.Sorry Whisenant
but he doesn't
I just got off the line with an old friend from Tuscaloosa........who is the MOST intimate member of Coach Saban's friends.... You can Google it and find out but promised I wouldn't say.
he said if Saban had any financial problems, if was before Bama (2007) and that he has never heard of them. He would know.
He didn't know if Saban was coming or going but that Saban had NOT discussed leaving ever with him and he was his (Saban's) closest friend
As to Wall Street Journal article, and all the other malarkey, ....he said "not an issue"
I asked him if Saban had been mistreated in any way while at Bama, especially regarding investments
"He has never been mistreated" is his response. "Alabama has given him everything he has asked for". He said that if Saban leaves it will only be because of his desire to rebuild another program, nothing else.
In summary:
Saban ISN'T going to Texas
Baghorn: put it on the line and either make it or break it. your reputation is on the line. I will hang around to see this through to make sure your "guarantees" are worthless and the light of day is shown onto your hopeful wishes and myriad dreams.
Look them up yourself. NCAA regulations regarding boosters. And nick sabans contract in which a school must ask permission first to speak with him.Orangeman, what legal and NCAA consequences are you referring to? Please cite to specific NCAA bylaws so I can look them up. Thanks.
Umm. They are out there in the open. Baghorn posts a bunch of crap that can't possibly be real due to the common sense that our legal dept and compliance dept are more competent then he suggests. He has no facts or sources....just his own opinion.
All I asked was how you would pay more for Saban than we would be willing to spendI went back to the first post and read every post Willie. I suggest you go back and read from the beginning. If you truly are a physician and have any self awareness at all you will see you are the one responsible for this turning ugly and will apologize.
It says nothing about his agent though!Look them up yourself. NCAA regulations regarding boosters. And nick sabans contract in which a school must ask permission first to speak with him.
if I got rude please forgive me, can you give me a quote so I can see where I went wrong? thanksWillieboy you are welcome here always but don't get downright rude. Keep an even keel but retain your passion and you will be just fine.
willie, relax man...this will all play itself out one way or the other in the next couple of weeks. All I asked was how you would pay more for Saban than we would be willing to spendno one has ever answered that question
all I get is that I am from a backward state who can't afford to match up with Texas
I KNOW Alabama catch match up Texas, but that is NOT the point!
how much can Texas pay their HC?
someone answer that!!!!!
then let's discuss why you think Bama can't come up with $10 million a year, or $20 million, or whatever!
stick to the facts, and quit telling me Texas can do what it wants to do because it is simply richer than anybody else
we are not talking billions here, just a few millions....
And for all of you who think I got upset
please go back and read the thread from the beginning. Insert California where it says Texas, and Louisiana where it says Alabama
then see if you can realize how condescending you guys have been. Put the shoe on the other foot
read the GQ articleThis is where your sources and mine aren't aligned. While we have heard similar things in regards to the new contract, my guy confirmed that Saban had lost "a lot" of money on bad investments.
That's consider a representative of the coach.same thing. We only had a BoR ask sexton to gauge Saban's interest.saban wasn't interested but said if he was Texas would be the only one. End of story. That's it. Everything else in this story is a pure rumor. It says nothing about his agent though!
in the time it took you to post that remark, willie, relax man...this will all play itself out one way or the other in the next couple of weeks.
