Ash

Unfair comment by BigPhil or at least bad choice of words. Has nothing to do with "being able to take it" and everything to do with the severity of the initial head injury and the second if there was a second. Ash is obviously very tough from watching him play. I think the coaches wished he was less tough and that he had slid more.
I think you mis understood?

I did not read ill will into your original post. Sorry if I misunderstand your thoughts but it seems you are making the same assertion. still don't see this as a toughness issue but just a difference in terms of injury severity. Some head injuries are more severe than others and may require much longer time away from contact.

It's actually interesting that you bring up Trey, I was speaking to a friend who is close to this and that is exactly what he said. They believe Ash is done for the season and he compared the situation to Trey Newtown.

I am no neurosurgeon, but I know a little about concussion and the brain. While one certainly may suffer a higher degree of injury than another, I do believe some folks can handle more shock to the head than others. As I said, I have been through this myself playing ball. Once again, no knock on DA but some people bounce back from head injuries quicker than others. Two athletes can suffer the same degree of injury and one returns to the field quicker than the other. Happens all the time. All of this said, I believe Ash is done for the year and probably done with football. THIS is just my opinion. I do not think they would have burned Swoopes redshirt if they thought Ash would be back. The horns have been operating without a backup QB for a few weeks now. The situation with Ash has become more clear with the burning of Swoopes redshirt.

I understand what you are saying, and do know that you can have differences in pain perception, time courses for recovery; see it all the time in medicine. Guess I just see it differently. I don't think his slower recovery is due to him tolerating the pain less than others, but believe he had a more severe concussion requiring more time away. I also do not believe that he will return this season. Ash has already proven his ability to play through pain on several occasions. I agree with everything else you said. Not trying to argue.
