In all honesty, Texas should be a regional host with a tournament win. The resume is pretty damn good, top 10 SOS and RPI. I assume the average performance in the Big 12/ last 15 games is what is putting the possibility of hosting in question.

The SEC tourney is a trainwreck. Vandy & SoCar both needed to make it to the weekend, IMO. The door is open for Ole Miss and LSU is lovin' life.

At 2-0, Rice is cemented as a host, IMO.

Keep an eye on that IU game, they're playing for a Top 8 - especially with the SEC mess.

TCU is the other team in the cat bird seat with all the drama. At 2-0, they're poised for a 4-0 run at the championship - at which point they're a definite Top 8.

Since Texas has the day off tomorrow, I will take the day off as well.

I'll post some college baseball scores tomorrow night.

Otherwise,

For some reason, LSU always owns at this tourney and Vandy always seems to struggle. At this point will any SEC team other than LSU be a super regional host?

UF will get a Top 8. Ole Miss has a shot if they keep winning.

lots of 2002 deja vu potential if that's the case.

remember in 2002, texas had to go to Ole Miss for the super regional and came out of there and went on to win the NC.  I'll elaborate on that story in a different thread sometime (maybe around father's day) because it has great sentimental value to me, but IIRC, Ole Miss was the number one rated team in the country and they just had a complete hissy fit when Texas regional got paired with their super regional.  Sure enough, Texas goes to Ole Miss and wins and Ole Miss has to stay home.  Then Texas goes on to win it all.  yep, yep, yep.

the karma gods are lining up, boys.  lining up, i tell ya'

That Ole Miss Super was a fantastic series. I've seen multiple guys from that team comment that they don't think they'd have won it all if they hadn't been tested in Oxford the way they were.

Another reason why I think Texas will host.

Kendall Rogers tweet,. "NCAA is licking its chops at the possibility of A&M-Texas in an NCAA Regional."
