Anyone who says that they want Texas to get beat bad by Baylor this weekend can kiss my burnt orange ass. First of all.. I want change to happen, but I be damned if I would ever root against Texas for the "good" of the program. You have the right to want change... but who roots for something they love to get beat?

I have seen those comments, and they are usually followed by "I am done with Texas until they make a change." Being a fan is not for pussies.

Do I wants us to get beat? No

What are the implications of us winning?

Mack Brown beats Baylor and goes 8-1 in the conference after switching out DC's. This in turn gives him a chance to win the conference championship and fulfill his contract. The AD will see fit for him to stay for another year! What's going to happen if he stays? I foresee a terrible year next year with more delusionment than this year! We lose more recruits and A&M moves further to the top in Texas.....

-He may also get a possible Fiesta Bowl berth.

I think we are going to lose this game from a realistic standpoint, this is Baylor's Super Bowl!

I'm impartial to this honestly, it can be argued that the ones wishing for us to lose are looking out for the program in the long run and want to finally delive the nail in the coffin for Mack Brown.

I never want to get beat and will NEVER pull for the Longhorns to lose. To me anyone who wants us to lose this game is not a true fan.

I do not want the Longhorn Football Team to Lose. I want a Head Coach to retire as soon as the Baylor game is over with....you see what I did

I will never understand fans who want their team to lose in order to lose their coach, different tournament spot, or better draft position

Texas could hire a blind monkey to coach them and I'd still show up every Saturday to root my heart out. :)

I will never root against Texas...ever.
Me neither. If beating Baylor hurts the program in the long run. Go Baylor.

As a graduate of UT, I am more interested in the program than the outcome of one game.

It is critical that Mack take a hike. If a loss to Baylor facilitates that, then I hope Baylor wins BECAUSE I AM A TEXAS FAN AND I WANT US TO WIN!

Anyone that doesn't see the "big picture" can kiss MY burnt orange ass.

Screw that... beating Baylor is a win for Texas, winning the Big 12 Championship is a Texas Big 12 Championship, going to the Fiesta Bowl is Texas going to the Fiesta Bowl. When the year started that was the goal right?

So at first we bitch because we lose and now we bitch because they are Winning?

So Saturday you will see my burnt orange ass rooting for Texas to win, because when the game starts it's not about Mack winning ... its about Texas Winning.....

Well said.

Its a double edged sword. Here is my take:

I dont condemn anyone for wanting Texas to win. I know how badly damaging for the Texas program the OU win this year could potentially be, and I still enjoyed it. Whether you bleed it, attended it, or married into it, being a Longhorn is a life long commitment. Most of the things I have today is because the University of Texas educated my future wife and put her in a position to succeed.

That said, I dont condemn anyone who wants this over by any defeat necessary. It is very clear Joe Jamail, Red McCombs, and Bill Powers do not give a damn about the product on the field. They are not "bosses" to Brown, they are his friends, and as long as the money keeps rolling in the on field product doesnt mean much. The "get it over" crowd is 100% right in the assertion that the "Want to win" crowd keeps this program in the laughing stock area because they blindly feed the money machine while talking change.

On a side tangent: I'm just a content guy, not an owner or an insider, but its long been my concern this season, and Mack Brown, would tear Longhorn Nation apart, and I think one only has to briefly scan the landscape to see it is happening. Take a trip to wherever and you will find it, and its only going to get worse and worse the longer Brown stays. This boards membership has, for the most part, not set to destroy itself over this, and I hope it stays that way.

We may have to endure another year, we may not, but lets not lose sight of the fact we all want what is best for Texas, even if we don't agree how to get there.

I would also like to say that I resent a man STEALING $100,000 a week from my school for results I wouldn't pay $10 a week for.
