. . . that Tech could pull the upset this weekend over TCU? Moral has got to be suffering a little at TCU with all the losses they've had on defense. And that defense has become seriously lacking in depth.

Tech "kicked Biliema's ass" in Fayett Nam last Saturday and seems to be coming together offensively.

Tech 42

TCU 38

Kentucky will knock off #25 Mizzou Saturday.

Kentucky 28

Mizzou 24

Is Arkansas that good? I mean, they lost to Toledo at home.

Tech very well good upset TCU, weird stuff happens up in Lubbock, but I still think TCU wins.

TCU's defense has issues.  With Big 12 play starting I think the Frogs will need to score 60+ to be guaranteed a win each week.

I do not like Pretty Boy, so I am going to have to pull for TCU. That's not to say that I automatically give them the win, but I do think they will win.

As far as KY Jelly over MIzzou, I would have to have seen something on the field on Ky's part to go along with that. Granted MU has not shown very much either, but I still think the Tigers > the Wildcats.

KY beat S Carolina on the road and only lost to Florida by five.

OTOH, MIzzou scraped by Arkie State by 7 and then escaped with a 9-6 win over UConn at home.

I'm liking my chances. Mizzou is a wounded animal right now.

They are playing in Tech and their fans will be rocking that stadium.  I do think TCU comes home with a lose as the secondary is nothing but freshman and Tech has better receivers than SMU.  Last years blow out at home by TCU with accusations that the Horn Frogs got the play signals from the fired defensive coordinator or something to that effect is still fresh on Tech's mind.  Do not be surprised if Arky beats A&M  this Saturday as the pressure is on big time for Bielema.

Yes, I think Tech pulls the upset, and can beat Briles as well... Opening opportunities for us... ;)

Well I guess if TCU and Baylor have a loss it will keep refs from home cooking to get an undefeated team in the play-offs...so that can help. Other than that I don't see how Tech's success can help US.

...why are our DTs playing so poorly ? These guys are Jrs, Srs, and one Soph. (Poona is supposed to be a beast). Charlie said our problem was technique etc....WTH ??? This is the second year of this system. We are through the third game of the year...AND WE STILL HAVE POOR TECHNIQUE ETC. ????  Sounds like a coaching problem to me.

A TCU win doesn't "help" us either. Just noticed and felt Tech would beat TCU this weekend. Nothing more, nothing less.

Sirhornsalot, We do not want to face an undefeated team. You can bet that the Big 12 has to have an agenda that includes getting a team into the play-offs this year. The only way that happens is our champion be unbeaten, and Notre Dame be out of the picture. One slot is always going to be an $EC team and the Big 10 champ will be a shoe in as well this year. Got to figure Pac 12 gets their champion in over any one loss Big 12 team once again. Big 12 could get left out even if they are undefeated if ND is unbeaten, so the powers that be have to make sure our champion is unscathed. That means throwing the old "holding flag" if Heard breaks it for the win.....I've seen the $EC refs cheat time after time during the BCS era in order to get their rep in the picture. ...and I'm talking blatant.... obvious.... cheating. The Big 12 should have been doing it too if they knew what was good for them back then.

GBT, I don't know about all that. This truly was just a moment where I thought "gee, Tech might beat TCU this weekend."

Nothing more, nothing less. I hope that's ok.

I really don't care who wins. As far as I'm concerned, an outbreak of diarrhea at the stadium for both teams will suit me just fine.

I would like the Big12 to get a team in the play offs. THAT would help Texas in recruiting. Being in a crap conference isn't good for recruiting. An undefeated Tech probably wouldn't get in. TCU on the other hand, since snubbed last year, would stand a better chance of making it in if they win out. Now I say that with the probability that we will not win the conference. Us winning  the Big 12 would be best for Texas of course.....

I hear ya SHA, but I'm kind of hoping TCU wins and Texas gets the chance to knock them off next week.  If Texas beats OK St and Heard has another solid performance then I would love for that to be the signature win this program needs to jump start it.  Lots of if's, but I think this defense can hold TCU to 40 points (never thought I would write that about a Strong defense) and Texas could run them over on offense.  Would be nice to see Texas  put up 83 points on Too Cold U.

One of the reasons the Big 12 is a crap conference is the crap football team in Austin for the last 5 seasons.

Let me help you out. TCU is not THAT team this year. They are wounded and there isn't a fix in sight. Even if they made it to the playoff, and they won't, they'd embarrass themselves and the conference. But TCU will drop a couple games this year, maybe more.

I'm afraid Baylor is your hope for a solid participant in the playoff. And since it's Baylor, I just don't care if we get anyone in or not.

Conference affiliation isn't that big a deal with Texas. No matter where we're at, we're still Texas.
