Wow.  Despite its flaws, no one can claim the B12 is not a good BBall conference.

Oops I missed that you posted this. 

The other thing about the big 12 is the round robin schedule. This makes it much more difficult than other conferences. You have to play every team on the road and at home. In a conference like the SEC, you might be able to avoid playing the better teams on the road.

Juan, since you appear to be the recruiting guru of this board, what do you believe the chances are Texas lands Jarrett Allen?

The last 8 CB's on 247 for Allen have been in Texas' favor. 

It should come down to Texas and Houston. Allen is really close with John Lucas. Jai Lucas is an assistant on the staff so that helps us. John Lucas also has a ton of Houston connections though and is close with Houston's basketball coach Kelvin Sampson. 

I think Allen ends up at Texas. Houston is certainly a threat.

Has anybody else heard the rumblings regarding Shaka Smart to the Rockets?

I heard it in passing and am unsure if it is a distinct possibility or just conjecture.

His name and Self's were mentioned in the media, but the Rockets are casting a wide net.

I think they like Vogel alot.  I remember a couple years ago reading how smart of a coach Morey thought Vogel was.  If he doesnt work out, then we will see.

I hope they do not hire Kenny Smith. I have always kind of enjoyed the Rockets. I find him close to unbearable. I didn't even appreciate his personality when he was playing on the great Rocket teams.
