For obvious reasons I wont post the whole write up. it is available on OB posted by Cujo from a friend of his, for those that are members there. However I though these two things might interest some. My interest was peaked because I don't know much about Les and was perplexed by the hire.

Not trying to make people feel better or worse about the hires, just thought this gave another viewpoint.

On Strong's hiring methodology...

Not entirely surprised, considering how Coach Strong works. He won't hire you based on your name and "internet" popularity, he's gonna hire you based on your coaching and recruiting. "Its not your red carpet assistant coaching celebrity challenge, its coaching"
About Les...

On Les Koenning:"You want to talk out of left field hire, well this is the guy, and not because he isn't qualified. I've met and talked to Les many times. He isn't your "ra-ra" in your face coach by any means. He is however a perfectionist. Route running, body control, and "hands, hands, hands." If you go to a coaches convention for WR's you want Les as a speaker. He's old school, but he knows his WR position. He fits perfect with what CS was doing a UL. If he wants an offense that relies on time of possession, you need WR's who can definitely be technicians in their routes. Plus he has an immense knowledge of Offenses, game planning and game adjustments. Very UNDERATED HIRE..

By hiring Koenning, are we aspiring to become what aggy was from '03-'07 or what Miss St. was from '07-'13?

I don't get the logic in hiring aggy cast-offs who haven't put anyone in the NFL and who haven't developed any players who stood out during their college careers. I just don't get tit.

Maybe if you would just get tit, everything would seem better.

If he is the lone OC then I agree I would be concerned. If he is just WR coach, then I do not have as big of a concern. Was still a head scratcher, but not as big of a concern.

People that judge a coach based on resume alone/previous coaching stops, do not understand coaching hires.

Are you OK with Bedford as DC, seeings he was fired from Okie State?

All I know is he was the best possession receiver we ever had until Jordan Shipley showed up. He caught freaking everything and that was with QBs that aren't even close to being as accurate as they are today.

he is not coming to be an OC...he is coming to be a WR coach...he is a technician of the profession at the WR position...you will have wr who run extremly tight rope routes with great hands...

Along these lines, think of Greg Robinson. Despite his performance at Syracuse and Michigan, he came back to Texas and did an amazing job with the defense considering the situation. Sometimes you have a solid coach in a terrible situation, for whatever reason.

Last time Koenning had WRs specifically as one of his coaching duties? 1996.

inf'ingcredible.

I do believe you don't get it.

It would be possible to "get it", if there was a PC talking about the new coaches. It's Annoying to read so many admonitions to get behind coaches that have been hired to unspoken positions. Hiring two OC and an OL coach to share OC responsibilities, requires an explanation for recruits, fans, and media.

It would be a great idea to explain this to fans considering they are deciding how much to donate to the foundation. Since I pay a portion of his salary, tell me what the plan is.

Could not agree more! Koening did NOTHING at miss st as an OC and he didn't have a dynamic core of WRs so yes I believe this hire is a terrible one. I agree with not hiring guys due to their internet fame but most of those guys got that fame and notoriety due to their on-field success. Right?

Bellichek and Carroll were not successful their first time out as HCs yet. Somehow they have muddled their way to success
