ROCHESTER, Ind. (AP) Five Notre Dame football players have been arrested after Indiana State Police say a trooper found marijuana and a loaded handgun in their car, while a sixth player was arrested in separate battery incident.

State Police say a trooper stopped a car Friday night in Fulton County for speeding. With the help of a drug-sniffing dog, the trooper found the marijuana and handgun.

The university confirmed all five arrested are football players: Ashton White, Max Redfield, Kevin Stepherson Jr., Dexter Williams and Te'von Coney.

Are these guys starters? Irishfred any input here? Wait, did I really just ask for more irishfred input?😜

Ok, just moved down the thread list and saw your replies Fred. The above message will self destruct in 10 minutes.

things are setting up for a Shock the Nation remake like the 1990 Texas team that upset Penn st in happy valley in season opener.

just need a better bowl ending than what the undeafeted SWC conference champions brought to Dallas that year.

Respect, Mike.

This should not happen at a place like Notre Dame.  NDNation is embarassed and simply let down by this one...

If your freshman gunslinger is the real deal, then the loss of Redfield is nothing but good news for you.

This game just became a lot more interesting.  The spread just narrowed by 1.5, in my opinion...

Definitely getting more interesting every day...for the wrong reasons of course with the arrests. So even if your number one team does not win, you still come out on top with your number two team right? Sounds like my buddy who used to put money on OU to beat Texas so that if Texas lost at least he might make some money!

Devin Butler wasn't going to play due to injury anyway. The Redfield move does show how seriously this kind of thing should be handled. I am not surprised. The only thing ND has in common with Baylor is the green and gold.

actually, the moment i will start thinking of nd as another baylor -- if it ever were to happen -- will be the moment nd starts blaming their troubles on us or on any entity other than themselves.

huge, huge differences between those programs.

yeah....when I went to the ND Rivals board to see whether it was in fact not just a rumor, I was surprised and happy to see that ND fan was really pissed.....at the players!!!...Not the cops, the players.

Whether I like em or not I have to respect that there is a big,bid difference between ND fan and Baylor fan..( I could insert aTmfan  as well)

ND guy here... It'll be interesting to see how the Butler situation plays out. Eyewitness accounts (biased as they might be) don't come close to matching the police reports. On top of that, the cop in question has a disturbing history of brutality and documented shady police work. As is usually the case, I'm sure the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

As far as the 4 idiots in the car with Redfield... Not entirely sure what to think. Kelly clearly knows something the public doesn't. I'm guessing Redfield claimed responsibility for everything in the car... Otherwise there's no chance administration would allow them to be with the team currently (see recent academic witch hunt/investigation). Administration has done whatever they can to make an example out of football players who step out of line in recent years. Still a good chance they step in to overrule BK and suspend the 4 IMO.

Thanks for posting Brian Kelly. We don't often get a college HC to post here. :)
