2027 Recruiting Thread

Getting tired of this soap opera. If he doesn't want to he be here then just pull the offer and let him go to FL or LSU. We have plenty of talent and don't need to beg a kid to play here
Who's begging? We put an offer on the table and he accepted it. I'm sure we maintain contact with him, just like we do with all recruits and we let him know we really want him, but his looking at other opportunities doesn't mean he doesn't want to be at Texas.
A kid with his talent is looking at serious NIL money so I understand his looking at other opportunities, even if I don't agree with it. His first choice was Texas, so he obviously wants to be here.
I'm old school and was raised to believe that your word is your bond and have lived with that principle all my life, but I have never been in the situation that he's in.
I just hope he honors his commitment.

Commitments ought to be renamed to "Reservation." A cancel anytime reservation. It really isn't a "commitment" at all. The players and the Universities don't treat it as such. Royal has reserved a spot on our 2027 freshman class. Kind of like having reservations for a steak dinner, while deciding if you would prefer Italian or Chinese.

This recruitment stuff should be all in good fun for fans, the coaches are the ones who should be sweating what 17/18 year olds are deciding. I always look back and remember how mature I was at 18, a man really does not become a man till like late 30's and even then, some take longer to become true men. I take all this with a grain of salt, trust that Sark and the coaches have it handled, no need to stress, cheers

Weird to transfer right before the season. I guess Kirby Smart is getting behind this one.

Buford is another one of those football dedicated schools, much like IMG. They take top players from all over.

We recruit that school a lot.

On another note, Texas Tech is now pursuing Tommy Castillanos who was the Florida State QB. Latest ruling allows him back in the portal.

It's funny because Tech has been telling anyone who would listen that they have complete faith in Hammonds. lol

From Hamilton on the Brewster thing . . .

Buford doesn't play. A lot of $$$ behind that HS program

Nothing like leaving your team of 3+ years a week before the season begins, after already playing in a scrimmage

These parents are truly nuts

Yeah, I get that Buford is a football factory, but this has to be nothing but a money grab. It's not like Brewster is doing this to get more exposure. Just absolutely horrible for his teammates back at Cedar Hill. In all honesty, if I were a college coach I would be cautious about recruiting a player with that mentality, but that is just me. Obviously the talent is there, but the motivation is questionable.

Is it state by state rules re: transfers? How does it work that he (Brewster) gets to do that?

He quit his team a week from the opener and after having already gone through a scrimmage with them. Thats just wrong.
