2027 Recruiting Thread

Texas flirted with him some but didn't really pursue him like a team would normally pursue such a highly rated prospect. I've heard there was good reason for the moderate interest but have never heard what it was. Hamilton said Texas wasn't real crazy about him but never expounded on that.

Gerry posted this today on the subject, same question – why didn't Texas pursue?

"Texas liked Kennedy … but had concerns over the foot injury that caused him to miss most of junior season vs the NIL #’s

He visited campus in April, but nothing really moved forward with him."

Just found out that Kennedy suffered a Lisfranc fracture. Those have long rehabs and not a good rate of success.

I completely understand why Texas was hesitant now.

Some notes . . .

Hearing that UT will continue to pursue Williams-Callis despite landing Noah Roberts. UT is also pursuing others that are complimentary backs. IF Texas can land W-C, it will be the best RB combo we've landed in years.

Gilmer 4-star OT Ishamel Carrara is a straight up NIL recruitment. Whoever puts up the most money wins, period. There's a good chance Texas doesn't spend that much on an OT.

Looking very good with 5-star CB John Meredith.

Yes we do for John Meredith

Noah Roberts' stats at Basha High (AZ)

Roberts has carried the ball 321 times for 2,168 yards and 29 touchdowns, averaging 6.8 yards per touch. He’s also an effective pass catcher, tallying 99 catches for 1,196 yards and 13 touchdowns

He seems to run a bit like Ricky Williams in a coupke of clips.

Yes, in his running style. Rickey was a bigger back though Noah has a lower center of gravity.

@Oldmanastro , I don't think that's right or if its what they put up, then it's still wrong. Gerry thinks its a Bijan-like verbal for us at RB.

Noah ran a 10.7 100 meters, which is pretty good for a back who can also run between the tackles.
