Ojo got stuffed by three different edges. I don't think Tech spent their money well.

I'm all honesty I think Tech got desperate if you ask me.

Yep, the Longhorns aren't going to take guys in recruiting that they don't think can be dudes on the field. No filler scholarships, no wasted NIL deals, etc.

Gotta invest at certain positions in recruiting - line of scrimmage, QB - areas you want players coming in young and you can development them in your system. Other positions are more easily supplemented via the portal if needed.

Texas is at it's best when the back ups are future NFL players themselves. Texas has the ability to bring in a roster of 85 guys (or maybe even 105) where almost all have at least a legit chance to play on Sundays.

I love hearing Rod Babers talk about practices back when he was playing. He was working his tail off to hold off the more talented but younger guys recruited after him. At the same time, he was getting reps in practice against some of the best WRs in the country.

Iron sharpens iron and Texas is capitalizing on that once again.

I also notes on the last updated rivals ranking that Bell had moved up to number 2 prospect !
And…Ojo had fell to number 40.
5 mil for a prospect ranked 40 !

Both Gerry and Bobby said today that Atkinson is a better LB prospect than Malik Jefferson was. That is high praise.
