2026 Recruiting Board/Thread

Anybody have any insight to the latest recruiting update from Nahlin? Sounds like its not good news?

Burton just reminded his board that Gerry still has two "Hi's" out there, meaning we have two who will be committing very soon. Maybe that was Nahlin's post too?

Yes and no, you look at Tech's class, they have about 5 top 150 caliber players and no one ranked 150-400. There is a big drop off. They will use the portal to sign an additional 10 or so guys they think will come in and immediately play year one.

Ohio State isn't as bad since they don't have to pay the premium Tech does to get players to go there. But the concept remains the same. Plus they don't use the portal as much so a lot of their budget will go to those 150-400 ranked prospects and develop them. We are pretty similar to them.
Thank you.

I'm curious. First, I'm sure you heard this. Not doubting you. I'm curious as to how does a possible future firing get leaked? I'm not sure how going to fire a person in the future benefits anyone? The flip side of that, regardless of it is true or not, it helps rivals recruiting. Once again, just curious.

Heard that as well. Also heard it may be because Flood is being let go. Anyone else hear that.

IMO, I don't think Flood is being let go. He's put too many in the NFL to just be fired for one not great year with an inexperienced and young OL.

I'm not going to be upset about Wright. Truth be told, he was not our first or second choice and though he wants to be a tackle, we saw him as a guard.

I still follow Tfloss a little. This is what he posted earlier

IT believes OL Max Wright of Melissa will flip to SMU soon after officially visiting them last weekend.

Proximity to home, stronger NIL and better coaching relationships are all playing a role, but ultimately the report reads as if Wright understands Coach Flood could be fired.

Wright understands Coach Flood could be fired.
Just wondering:
Is Wright's understanding from SMU and his recent visit (and/or other schools)? How would SMU know? It's hard to believe Texas told him they were planning to fire Flood or could fire Flood.

Then again, maybe he needs an excuse.

Dunno. That's why I posted on here asking if anyone else heard any other rumors or chatter about it.

I can say this. Opposing programs, at least many of them, will intentionally put these kinds of thoughts into recruits' heads.

Given the problems we've had with the OL, this was an easy rumor to throw out there.

The source was not from UT. No way UT will let something like that slip if it had any legs to it at all.

Four-star offensive lineman Max Wright from Melissa switches his commitment from Texas to SMU while the Longhorns battle A&M.
