The ruling last night in Colorado from a federal judge that gives all class of 2022 athletes an additional year of eligibility (aka five years to play five seasons) AND create what amounts to a transfer portal for those players has the college football world frenzied this morning.

The judge in the case has issued a clarification. She says her ruling does not supercede the NCAA's rules and guidelines, it only affects the 2022 recruits who haven't had the 5 for 5 benefit that the NCAA approved.

So, unless the player had already put his name in the portal earlier this year, they can only return to the team they were on. For instance, Hutson could only return to Texas and not another school.

The portal is not open unless the player had his name in the portal during the entry period.
