2026 PORTAL

I saw a projection with Sikorski as the starting LG. Below is from Surly:

Were Sark and Flood completely dug in on redshirting the Coleman twins and Christian OR were they worse than Brooks in practice? If it’s the latter, we’re in some serious trouble and the Oregon State kid might start.

That is just pure speculation and assumption, something that is widespread on Surly.

The guy assumes three players were too awful to play (instead of the rational thought – We have a rotation, no reason to blow a true freshman's redshirt.

I mean, come on. With his position we could argue that they sat because they grew fangs.

Always take most anything you hear on Surly with a large grain of salt.

According to OTF, there is a catch here regarding Seymore''s eligibility.

In 2021, he appeared in just two games and took a redshirt. This was at Miiami.

The following season, he played in six games and made two starts.

In 2023, he didn't play in a single game. And he no longer had a redshirt to use.

At Akron the next year, he was a full time starter.

In 2025, he was a full time starter for WKU.

Seymore has applied to the NCAA to receive a waver on the year he missed. Of course, this may or may not be approved by the NCAA. If approved, then he's likely your starting LG.

It's funny that he hasn't even visited Texas yet.

Apparently, he would be a summer enrollee. He has to finish a class at WKU to graduate.

This is why he was still available. Not because he isn't good. He needed someone willing to fight for his eligibility. We apparently are willing to take the chance since there was no one left available to upgrade the team.

But I'd much rather sign an experienced player who was really good at the G5 than another unproven, young lottery ticket we know nothing about like Sikorski and Newman plus the young guys we already have on roster who weren't good enough to play in front of Stroh or Brooks.

I think you might be right here. He did visit Texas a couple of weeks ago. Maybe he didn't sign back then because Texas was working on the eligibility. Maybe he signed now because they got word he is good to go. Whether he starts or not, he is a quality with lots of game experience to provide excellent competition.

This is a depth pick up. He is not elite. That is why he was still available after several weeks since the portal opened.

I honestly do not think he's an upgrade from 2-3 players we already have for that spot. One of them may start over this new guy.

The only thing that makes me feel better about him is that Miami once thought he was good.

But if it stops the ongoing tantrum I see at other sites, then it's a great pick up. lol
If he can pass block, he's better than what we started in the interior at the beginning of last year.

For the record, Brooks and Stroh may turn out to be great players.... but neither were ready to start last year.

He has not visited Texas yet, per Burton.

Time will tell. Obviously Texas thinks he has at least a reasonable chance, otherwise they wouldn't have offered.
Whether it's Seymore, Sikorski, J. Coleman, Cujoe, Christian, Robertson or whoever, I just want the best 5 out there protecting Arch and opening up running lanes for the RBs. This offense has a chance to be something special next year and I would hate the OL being the problem of achieving their potential.

From a poster on another site. I thought it was interesting . . .

Laurence Seymore:

2021, Miami redshirted in 2021, played in 2 games

2022, Miami played in 6 games

2023 did not play. Was it injury related or was he even enrolled anywhere.

Akron 2024, 4 games

WKU 2025, 13 games

Probably trying to get 2023 waiver for either medical hardship or that he wasn’t enrolled.

Different story than say Pavia:
Diego Pavia played in games for 6 years.

New Mexico Military (JUCO), 2020 - 8 games played

New Mexico Military (JUCO), 2021 - 13 games played

NMSU, 2022 - 12 games played

NMSU 2023 - 15 games played

Vandy, 2024 - 13 games played

Vandy 2025 - 13 games played

Remember Dusty Dvoracek:

He was enrolled at OU for 5 years from 2001 thru 2005. He was kicked off the team in 2004 after putting a friend in ICU during a bar fight.

Dvoracek was granted an extra year. He applied for hardship waiver after going to alcohol and anger management while missing the 2004 season due to his own misconduct.

Was 2021 and 2022 the Miami Hurricanes, or Miami of Ohio?
