I think you're right. We enter next year with two projected top 5 draft picks (Arch and Simmons).... and if Goosby comes back, probably another in the top 10 to 20.

If the young players actually get better (which seems to happen under this coaching staff - unlike others we've had), we have a pretty realistic chance to do something special next year! I bet the check books are opened up.

But yes, hopefully we have a lot of portal money but we are also very loaded at WR with people that have a higher ceiling than Moore.

I could see up to 4 first rounders next year. The 3 you mentioned, and I think Jelani McDonald has a chance to be a late 1st rounder! He's been flying around this year.

Definitely don't see it being Spence in front of him. He's going to play the Trey Moore role that is a lot of rush the passer and only occasionally cover.

Lefau was a good player imo. Loved his instincts against the run and ability to go downhill. But the coverage ability was what I think the coaches are hoping to improve.

Linebacker pass coverage was pretty bad this year. Agreed.

The "insiders" say it is likely. No smoke of him leaving. But we thought Lefau was likely too.

With Moore entering the portal, there might be a portal spot at WR. I think the player's name I was referring to is "Dallas Wilson." A freshman five-star WR from Texas that we recruited out of HS. He looked all-world against us totaling about 111 yards in receiving. However, I think he totaled 189 for the year or some such thing. He battled injuries throughout the year.... but if his game against us is any indication of what he could be... I'd go after him full force --- if he enters the transfer portal.


Jaden Baugh is the RB from Florida you're referring to. He also had a career game against us. If he decides to portal, my guess is he would be target #1 for Texas. He's a powerful inside runner. A perfect compliment to Wisner - who is looking more and more like he will return.

I wouldn't bet on that. This portal season will be very different than last year's. Lessons were learned. Pocket books have opened.

$1.5 million may not be the final offer, too.
