I don't think thats what he was doing as nobody I know has anything against Sanders to make Gerry say something like that.

Gerry has a tendency to be right, most of the time.
Gerry was saying this about Sanders the entire cycle. He didn't just pop up with this nugget after he committed to A&M.

Brown and Sharma were 1 and 2. We went 1 for 2 there. At 3 was/is Myron Charles and 4 Kevin Wynn.

Sanders was 5 simply because he said he was not ready to contribute at the D1 level as a freshman. Hamilton said it woudl take a couple of years before he'd have a meaningful impact on the DL.

What I hear is that we're still recruiting Charles (FSU) and Chace Sims (aggy) to flip one or both.

So we're 1 for 5. Was it Floss that said before he left that Charles may be back in play? If not, are we done or are we going for the 6th choice or try to swing someone else higher ?

Yes, there is good reason to think we'll flip Charles. And there seems to be some confidence in flipping Sims.

There's always someone who stands out during the season that we might go for. But there's no reason to panic over this. It just means next year will be critical in getting the proper numbers. Right now, our numbers are fine.

Gerry has made it sound a few times that Charles is listening or even communicating back as well.

There are always late bloomers. The staff will know who before December.

There is some young talent at DL on this roster. Aaron Bryant, Melvin Hills, Sydir Mitchell, Jaray Bledsoe and Alex January. Josiah Sharma if we sign him.

Man, I hope u r wrong. I think that guy is going to be really good.
Are your sources reliable ?
That would suck.

I think I would (if I was on the Texas staff):
Get Nick Brooks at OT, move Jordan Coleman to IOL, and move Devin Coleman to DT for this cycle.

OL for 25 would be:
OT - Mills and Brooks
IOL - J.Coleman, Christian
Not great, but each has really good size (which you can't teach) and could be developed into quality, imo.

DT - Sharma, D. Coleman and keep working on Charles for a flip

2026 - go all out for Turntine and heavy on DT.

The only list I care about is the one Sark goes by. GH said Sanders was fifth in Texas staff's priority list at DL.

Sharma was second.

Was Sark's list public? How do we know Sharma was second. In any case, that's besides what the point was. "Elite" is subjective. Being on the list makes him "Elite". We only recruit "Elite" players.

Some you keep trying for and others you just let them go. Which one is Sanders? lol

I have heard that if Brooks comes here, Flood is going to move him to guard.

Well then....that just completely messed up my whole plan.

Anyway, I'm not too concerned about who commits to where in the summer. One thing I do know is that every year Sark and staff have flipped very high level prospects to the good guys. Kelvin Banks, Terrance Brooks, Anthony Hill, X Filsaime, Ty Anthony Smith (I know there were a couple more) we're all committed elsewhere (Oregon, atm, Ohio St., Florida) until the moment they weren't. I don't believe that will be any different this year.

The fun part is guessing who it will be this year and these are my top two choices (I think the ship has sailed on D. Moore):

Dijon Lee - I'm going bold here and saying this is my top target. I just have a strange feeling this is it for me. I think Sark zeroed in on him and I would bet money Sark is talking with him every single week. If Saban was still HC at Alabama, I wouldn't think this.

Antonio Coleman - This is another one I feel goes our way. Kid has flipped a lot (granted it's between 2 in state schools), but I think Lacey wins out in the end.

Who do you think it will be?

One guy that you didn’t mention flipping was Quinn.
And I hope they keep recruiting Moore

I agree in thinking we have some flips ahead. Myron Charles is who I think is ripe right now. Staff has continued to recruit him hard.

Moore got into Sark's doghouse when he committed. Whole staff was turned off by it. I would be surprised if Texas left the door cracked open. Hamilton said we haven't been in contact. II have to think though, if he decided to change down the road, Sark would take his call.

I hope your strange feeling is prophectic. Dijon Lee would be a nice catch. A statement catch.

Not seeing Sanders in post brother. No Gerry is right lot, but hadn't you rather tell somebody something that they wanted hear? It doesn't take alot for some Horn fans to only see thru burnt orange glasses, they believe only positive not reality.

Gerry said that months before Sanders decided. In fact, it was well before his visit here. So I don't think it's logical to think anyone really wanted to hear anything at that point.

Hows that for burnt orange glasses? lol
