OTF saying Texas is still in a solid position for TE offer Nick Townsend of Spring Dekaney, even though he chose to go to Alabama last weekend instead of seeing Texas.

He was able to speak with Coach Banks on Sunday night, and he had a video chat with Sark last night.

He is a "maybe" to attend the spring game on April 20th.

Quotes from LB Elijah Barnes of Dallas Skyline after his weekend visit to Texas (247):

"I just liked the energy, the high intensity here during practice," Barnes told Horns247. "I just loved the love that the coaches showed me and the players as well. Talking with (David) Gbenda and Ant Hill. It's just great talking to those guys that's going through the process now that have already been through the process before. Just sitting down talking with them was great."

"Can't play slow,"
Barnes said. "That's all I gotta stay. You gotta play fast and you gotta know what you're doing."

"We're (Barnes and Coach Nansen) just going to keep building this relationship,"
Barnes said. "Now it done got better since the first time we met. I knew the first time we met he was a special guy and he was going to treat me with a lot of love."

"It's the people,"
Barnes said. "The connections that you can have with people. That's the biggest thing with me — relationships. Just knowing people that you never met before, and you get to see them face to face, talk with them, it's just great to be around great people. That's what I want to surround myself with, just great people."

"I'll make a decision in August before my senior year so I can just focus on my senior year, don't have to focus on my recruitment no more and be locked in,"
he said. "I'm kinda just still really taking it slow. Hopefully I'll narrow my schools to at least five or three or so in the summer."

Roach at 247 has put in a Texas crystal ball for Barnes.

He mentioned there isn't even a clear-cut second place team for him at the moment.

Roach at 247 had a source tell him that Townsend is trending A&M right now, but he's giving Texas potentially his last official visit.

It's early but this could be Sark's best WR haul while at Texas.

Dakorien Moore, Kaliq Lockett and Jaime Ffrench are all 5 star caliber and Texas is in a good spot with each of them.

Andrew Marsh and Marcus Harris as back up plans?
They love Johnson from Hitchcock too, so it will be fun to see how Sark works this out.

If Moore does flip to Texas, hopefully it doesn't draw out beyond summertime.

Elko learned from the best in Jimbo in being an A+ used car salesman.

Our offensive recruiting is knocking out ball park even though we only have recruits, but lot of good leans. Now if we could get DL on same page.

The father of ATH Michael Terry III told On3 they will be in Austin next weekend for the spring game, assuming there are no track conflicts.

Potentially interesting development here as WR Marcus Harris is headed to Austin tonight for a visit.

He was scheduled to be in town later next week, but mentioned he wanted to get back sooner.

@TFloss32 saw OU 247 mod and one of the Texas mods both agreeing Texas is surging for Lamont Rogers while others are falling. Also mentioned Texas gets the last OV and he should be making a decision soon after.
Good stuff.

Yeah, it seems Texas is hitting all the right notes with him recently, and I think having Coach Gilbert back recruiting DFW is helping a lot.

Apparently a couple of the Mesquite Horn coaches have worked for him in the past.
