Blake Munroe said yesterday that Texas would be very active when the portal opens next week. I guess that means a lot of turnover? Someone in the know?

Another explanation is that the schools could have the green light for the new 105 roster limit, with current walk on not counting for the remainder of their eligibility.

105 for baseball?
I've only heard of 105 for football roster.

As for Baron's question, I believe we have 15 draft eligible players or 16 if Ace Whitehead doesn't want a medical redshirt. So, not certain how many will get drafted and sign. There are 3/4 seniors of the 15/16 players. No matter how good/great of a HS class is that comes in. We are currently #1, I believe, but if any of those get drafted and sign as well lowers the rankings and numbers of players for the active roster. Don't know how many aren't currently on the active roster, but Schloss is like the HC at LSU. You get the top 1/2 HS class and add a top portal class as well to get the depth needed.

Just look at LSU, they have added the top HS classes something like 4 of the last 5/6 yrs and also added the top portal classes like 2-4 yrs since the portal has been up and running like it is now.

As for Texas players, there is possibly 4-5 that look to move on if I was to guess.

Beyeleu isn't one of them, right?

Oops. Here is what the baseball changes

"In NCAA Division I baseball, the roster size limit is 34 players, with all players eligible to receive a full scholarship. This is a change from the previous system where schools were restricted to a smaller number of scholarships. The NCAA has also implemented rules that allow schools to provide up to 34 full scholarships to their roster, according to Informed Athlete and Match Collegiate. "

increasing from 11.2 scholarships. No more partials means less games you have to play with how you split things up. Should be an advantage for power house programs like Texas as some smaller school won't steal guys away by offering more of a scholarship.

Baseball American and D1Baseball both have us now as the #2 seed. Vanderbilt jumped up after winning the SEC tournament and being the hottest team in baseball over this last month.

Both outlets have UTSA and the #2 in our region and Houston Christian as the #4. Cal Poly or UConn as the #3.

Southern Miss or UCLA as the Super Regional Matchup.

We will know the actual matchups in just a few hours.

So, out regional will match up with the UCLA regional for the super regional. That UC Irvine team has been in and out of the top 25 all yr. So, UCLA and UC Irvine with Arizona St. and Fresno St.

We win our regional either UCLA or UC Irvine should be a very good super regional match up.

Was surprised by the arkie regional and fake ut regional matched up for the super regional.

Definitely is Texas' fault. We swept them right when they were getting hot and crashed their season once again.

I'm really curious to see how Schloss handles the pitching rotation this weekend.

Was his shuffle during he conference tournament done with the regional in mind? Will he throw bullpen arms on Friday night against HCU? HCU is ranked 91st in RPI, 6th in their own conference before winning the conference tournament. That match up is essentially a Tuesday night match up that we should win without difficulty. Taking a Tuesday game approach with the pitching could save the better arms for games 2 and 3. Get your best position players out there, be prepared to use a Burns, Grubbs, Volantis in relief if you must but otherwise try to get a blow out win with the likes of Ethan Walker, Saunier, Bing on the mound.
