2024 Recruiting Board/Thread

Now that Oregon is moving to the b10, I wonder if that puts them back in the game for Brandon Baker. Thoughts were that the conference uncertainty hurt them in his recruitment
I wondered about that myself. All of these moves will shake up recruiting. Just waits to be seen how much.

Per IT, they're saying Texas' confidence in landing DE Colin Simmons isn't quite as high as it was after his official visit to Austin, but confidence remains that the Longhorns can win out.

If anything, the tone of the reports has definitely changed.
I sure hope we win out.  I'll be at their first game on Aug 25th. to see January.  I'm hoping to have a look at Simmons too.

I hadn't seen that as much of an obstacle, but their constant turnover at OL coach is a factor.

TCU went to the National Championship. You think that was because Sonny took a juco team and coached them up? lol Keep your property and your ocean.

Tom left a train wreck.

I can handle the truth. You just can't seem to find it.
Yelp Sonny had a team of talented players every one try to recruit. Just folled outthe balls and said get um.

Tom inheired a train wreck. fify. He did have 4 winning seasons and 4 bowl victories.. You might could handle the truth, but have drunk too much koolade.

And my property is not for sale till Iam gone then wife will sell and go home.

Herman and his staff didn't develop players the way a successful staff does. OL recruiting was lacking. I also think the S&C staff did a poor job, way too many injuries.
You might be right.Present team has had injuries not as many. If Tom wouldhad nil he might have done better in OL recruiting . Extra 50 K helps.

1-3 against ou.

no conference titles

Some of those bowls were an embarrassment to even be in.

Tom Herman inherited a program that had gone 16-21 in the previous 3 seasons and they went 32-18 under Tom in 4 seasons.

Steve Sarkisian inherited a program that had gone 32-18 over the previous 4 seasons and has gone 13-12 in 2 seasons.

Sonny Dykes inherited a program that had gone 23-24 over the previous 4 seasons and took them to the national championship game in his first year.

Dems the facts. Feel free to draw your own conclusions.

Bless Sam Ehlinger, his heart and all of the players that played for Texas under Herman but I can assure you that this team Sark fields this coming year would beat any of Tom Herman’s Texas teams by 2-3 TDs.   They will have more NFL draft picks, more award winners, longer term NFL success and will pay off with even better recruiting in coming years.

I can buy that.

I take no joy in beating a team with no QB. Texas had better talent in walkons.
Similar could be said of the sooners the year before.  Yet it took 55 to beat an inferior Texas team. Only speculation but I'm guessing ol' Tom struggles to make it that close.

It seems clear that the team is more talented and headed in a better direction than it has been in a long, long time. Whether we get CS or not.

Texas dominated the LOS in that game
Something they have not done much of in several years. Another sign of the ability of this staff to identify the kids they want and develop them.

People bring up the NIL's impact on recruiting when talking about Sark's first two classes as if the other schools weren't' doing the same thing. The kids still have to be sold on the program and staff. IF things don't improve from hear, the sales pitch will stop working but a lot of people on the outside looking in seem to think this team is different. I don't see them everyday but I do see a lot in Sark that I like better than the previous two staffs. Then again, I just had my Koolade IV installed so there is that.?
