SignUp Now!Good post, especially the Mack part.I dont see how anyone can critize this staff regarding recruiting. They are getting a lot of the top guys on their board regardless of where they are.. Couple of points:
Mack started relying on recruiting services ranking too much and it contributed to his departure
THSCA has been pretty quiet regarding OOS recruiting. Even they know the landscape change. Kids want to go OOS too.
Staff is recruiting regionally. Skill players from Cali, DL from the SE. Plucking players from Fla and Louisiana at a level never done before at Texas.
They are establishing roots at national power houses, Mater Dei, IMG, Duncanville. You start a solid pipeline there and look out.
I know we've missed on a couple of targets recently, but there are plenty out there that we're in good shape with. Patience. We're looking good recruiting wise. You want to criticize other aspects of Sark as a coach and I'm all ears, but I'm perfectly happy with recruiting.
No Bijan is not at Texas any more just like Earl gone but not forgotten.Yeah, 40+ years ago we recruited a back out of Tyler, Texas.
Bijan was a bit more relevant than 40+ years ago.
I said nothing about Sark recruiting OOS. Did say his Texas recruits were rated lower this year than in the past.So it was ok for Herman to recruit OOS, but not Sark?
On the OOS players vs in state. DKR, Akersand Mack won with them. And still posible today.
Show me a OOSer that has commitedto Horns where there is not a higher or equal in state player. Sure they aregoing out of state somealways have. Show alittlemoreinterest and somemight stayhome in otherwordsmore money.
Year in and year outTexas produces the most H S players. Florida had more one year due to the schools thatrecruit from other states.
The bottom line is winning for a 11-1 season would not care if no Texans were on team. But sofor not even lose to this in winning.
This is your post about previous coaches winning with Texas players and saying it is still possible today. Also said that if Texas showed more interest or money they wouldn't leave.I said nothing about Sark recruiting OOS. Did say his Texas recruits were rated lower this year than in the past.
Hamilton at IT doesn't expect Texas to pursue.
Is this similar to the dreaded “Texas is my dream school” post? I kid, I kid…sort of.?
He probably had it when he took his visit to Texas it's been up for 2 hoursWhen was this posted?
Many of those kids don't want to play at Texas. Texas is becoming a hot spot for people moving out of blue states. So many now have no state allegiance to Texas because they spent much of their life somewhere else.Big Daddy Cane that is correct! You are not wrong. But IMO had nothing to do with my answer i SHA.
My stance is 95% of the time Texas has just as highly rated as the OOS kids. And it is possible to win with them today
What this board sayshas no bearing on who Sark recruits.
When he put it up is what matters. If that was two hours ago, thats good news.He probably had it when he took his visit to Texas it's been up for 2 hours
If it was possible to sign the top 20 Texas players each year, I'm sure Sark would be happy to do so.Big Daddy Cane that is correct! You are not wrong. But IMO had nothing to do with my answer i SHA.

His instagram currently has 4 reels up. 3 from his recent LSU visit and then the pic of him in the Texas gear. When he put it up is what matters. If that was two hours ago, thats good news.
Any word on Neto’s brother?IT said this evening that Texas would take a commitment from DE Solomon Williams regardless.

Good post and also good point by SHA. I'll add one thing. Within the top 20 kids in the state, there may be plenty of reasons why the staff would not pursue. Culture fit, scheme fit, academics, work ethic, off the field issues, mainly interested in NIL, player may simply not like UT, baseball prospects, etc.. Rankings are a good guideline, but not the only factor to consider. If it was possible to sign the top 20 Texas players each year, I'm sure Sark would be happy to do so.
But kids don't do that anymore. Like SHA said, lots of transplants from other states without Texas allegiance. Kids also have an easier time connecting across the country these days and moving away isn't the same as it was even in the 2000s.
It's a different ball game and if Texas can sign 5-8 of the top 20 Texas guys each year, that is probably a good in state year. Going OOS is a necessity these days, even for a heavily populated and football producing state like Texas.
Seems that he slowed down his recruitment, and he and the family are waiting to see how much playing time Neto gets. Neto being on the field may secure his commitmentAny word on Neto’s brother?
Collin is very media savvy. He's not going to tip his hat either way. When he put it up is what matters. If that was two hours ago, thats good news.
