I knew something was different when his first year as bad as we looked on the field he brought in the # 3 class. He’s stacking talent now. That why that Big 12 championship game turned out like it did. We were way way better than Oklahoma St at every position. Same with Tech talking all that crap but we were just way better.Could be. It will be interesting to see how well next year's class is, now that we have a college football playoff birth, and will have full SEC hype and exposure.
3 to 5 is awesome, particularly compared to his predecessors, but if you want to compete with Georgia and Alabama on an anual basis, then you need to match them in recruiting. I don't see any reason why Sark can't achieve that.
I always said if Mack ever won a national championship that we would be up there with the top teams with the way he recruits. It seems like he relaxed after he won it. They misevaluated on some players/positions also. Then after the championship game where Colt got hurt seems like that took something out of Mack. Of course he stayed around drawing the money and we were something like 36-33 record for the years after. We were like 5-7 the next year after that championship game. Winning didn’t equate to more winning. I really like Mack but he stayed way too long. Couldn’t fire him and he wouldn’t leave. I think we would have had Saban if Mack would have stepped aside. Mack probably could have gotten the AD job if he would have just stepped aside.
You’re right. Sark is going to have to keep getting top 5 classes every year to compete with Georgia and Alabama.
