2024 Baseball Season Thread

Being just good is the enemy of becoming elite. That is the current status of Pierce and baseball.

He is just good not great.
If I remember correctly doesn't Texas suck at Globe Life or Minutemaid each year? Always a slow start but they get better as the season progresses?

Pitching is always slower to develop at the beginning of the season. Hopefully with a few innings, some of these guys will see the light and we will see improvement. Just like basketball, you want to be peaking at the end of the season.

Being the way things are , there is a long wayto top of peak. For both teams.

Correct me if I am wrong..... I believe C. Pierce has beaten aggy twice since becoming the Texas coach? That includes playing them each year - plus once in the College World Series.

This is a bit unsettling, no?

SEC 3- Horns 0
Baseball might be our toughest SEC transition.

I actually had very high hopes for this baseball team. I was stunned when we didn't start the season ranked in the top 5, much less the top 10. I guess the people who rank college baseball might know more than I?

It's tough to be a cry-baby when Pierce has made the CWS several times at Texas... but I think he needs to re-evaluate some things. The pitching coach situation being one. And, I think the portal could be more of a friend to Texas baseball.

Pierce is the pitching coach, he took the duties this year. And IMO the management of bull pen is a big problem.

Per IT Pierce is 3-6 vs aggy.
