Here's an interesting commitment. 

Andrew Paul, 5-11 220 lb RB from Parish Episcopal School in Dallas. 

247 Composite has him ranked #534 in the nation and #42 RB in the nation. But at one time, he wasn't even in the top 1200. In October of 2021, the 3 leading schools for him were Texas State, Sam Houston State, and Houston Baptist. Something happened and all of sudden, he got offers from the likes of Colorado, Auburn, Michigan State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oregon, Purdue, TCU, and Washington. 

But all of those teams lost out as he came down to a final 3 of..........Clemson, Georgia, and Michigan and today he committed to the national champion Georgia Bulldogs.

What a ride for this kid. 

Something happened was his Senior film going out to teams! Dude looked like a different player and had a monster senior year! Just filled out later than most! Kind of like Moro Ojomo did a couple years ago for us.

The portal is going to play a significant role in almost every top 20 class. We will see a rise in players transferring in their first and second years. Everyone wants to play immediately.

Guess 22 class is done maybe a portal player. Any way first class in a long time that is a complete class. 

Could make a Shorthorn class complete at all positions except center Hudson or Robertson could work out.

They'd be passing up the next 50K from UT in leaving. It's essentially a $200K or $250K deal spread over 4-5 years.

I think this is where the portal may actually be good for the players. Heck, go wherever you think is best for you out of high school but if you realize the situation isn't ideal, make a move. Some will realize they aren't going to see the field at a power 5 school and maybe need to drop down a classification. Some will have an opportunity for upward mobility (think Isaiah Neyor) to move to a higher profile program or just to make a move to a better roster situation.

Yes, some players will make ill advised moves or lack the patience to see the original plan through - which could possibly benefit them more in the long run. Ultimately, players should have the option to be able to make their own choice about where to play - just like we all have the ability to make our own choice about where we work.
