Latest on QB Quinn Ewers from IT...

- they confirmed he will be in Austin on Saturday along with other '22 targets, which may include CB Denver Harris who will be in the area for a playoff game.

- they believe this recruitment has really picked up in Texas' favor because of the feedback that Ewers has received from the '22 class, his original classmates before he graduated early.

- after putting out feelers to several guys and doing his own research, Texas is faring well but A&M is also after those same prospects.

"Texas is oh so close to establishing momentum down the final stretch, but a little work remains. If Ewers selects Texas, as IT expects, the visit Saturday is the potential stick of dynamite to loosen a recruiting avalanche."

Regardless of what happens with Ewers, IT is hearing Sark and Milwee would like to add a second high school QB to this class, and a few offers may go out this week.

If they don't offer anyone, they obviously didn't find anyone they liked well enough.

One name to possibly keep an eye on is QB Nick Evers of Flower Mound High.

IT reported a little while back that Texas tried to get him on campus while he was still committed to Florida, but he didn't want to make the trip without an offer.

He opened his recruitment last night.

I watched Red's Hudl and came away very impressed.

Looks bigger than 6 ft. Great at making people miss and several times will just drag defenders. Played QB for his team this year and looked like Roschon on several runs. Not much receiving highlights from this year but a bunch from last year.

Here is his highlight tape from his Junior year for @North Texas Golfer or anyone else skeptical of him to watch.

Full disclosure here. First, I don't bother looking at highlight tapes because I am NOT an expert at what to look for. And, second, my comments on what I think about how good this kid or that kid is, are based solely on a kid's ranking and his offer list. That's all I go by.

Not saying it's impossible, but the odds are very much against any kid ranked 1387th ever making a significant contribution to any major program.

And they are called highlight tapes for a reason ?

It's not an ignorant statement at all if you consider what the odds are that a kid ranked 1387th will ever play a significant down of football at Texas.
JJ Watt was a 2 star recruit. Some 5 stars Texas recruited haven’t played a significant down for Texas.
