It will be interesting to see what happens at OSU this year if Stroud kills it, exodus of qbs in transfer portal?  How long do they stick around!
That's a problem at any school.  You could make the same comment at TX. If Card is super successful it could scare off Murphy and make 2023 QB recruiting more difficult. The problem is exacerbated by the transfer portal. The flip side is if you are in need of a QB you may be able to find a really good one in the transfer portal.

This is a Mike Tyson punch in the gut for me.
Not only that but Ewers grew up a longhorn fan.
I could understand him backing off on Herman but why didn't he commit to Sark knowing that he is at the top of the list of quarterback coaches? That confuses me.
I hope to hell we do to Ewers what we did to (that great RB that went to OK...senior moment) and win a championship.
Adrian Peterson is the RB name you're looking for.

If we do sure will be a lot of portal entrys. Plus I doubt if any spaces are left from last years class.

67 players returning unless portal or pro. plus 6 super juniors who can return if they want to and staff is willing.

However hope you are right as OL and DB rooms are extra thin in numbers. and 5 spaces is not enough to fill them to adquate numbers.

You really can't see upto 12 players currently listed as possible portal entries?  I can. I do believe like SHA that we will be above the 25. How far above  i don't  know.  3-4 o linemen, we don't  currently have a TE unless I missed something, 2 or more wrs, and upto 3 dbs; furthermore if not  more.  Nothing wrong with what you said. Just  believe we have a better staff and understanding of how to get to national championships.

All will be right in the UT world if Card is who we think he is, Murphy develops and Sark is able to pull in some Manning magic. At that point I would be happy they didn't get Ewers, (only if they get Arch).  Get Ewers and they probably lose Murphy and Manning likely isn't on the table.  I like the current path of the QB room.  Did not like it in February, but now it looks extremely bright.

We may go further than five.
By my count, I think they take at least 7 more:

2 OL, 2 DB, 2 WR and 1 other (no clue, but if Perkins or Skinner want in then you take them).

I do find it weird that UT is dedicating a scholarship to a long snapper recruit. Any chance that is actually a PWO and not a scholarship? Not that a LS is not an important position.

With that said, I think the 85 limit is on the verge of being permanently raised to at least 90, imo.

But we ended up with a QB who ended up 2nd in the Elite 11.  Quinn was 6th.

The 25 limit is firm no amount of transfers will give more spaces. NCAA is talking about changing this to help in big numbers of portal entries.

Texas needs 3-4 more OL and 4-5 more DBS IMO there is not enough spaces for them.

Will read NCAA rules on this again and hpoe youall are righr.Roster is unbalanced right now. Sarks worry!

AscI understand  it the spring enrollees can count against the previous year so the 25 is not as straightforward as it seems. I know the 2021 class only had 23 enrollees so we can take at least 27, maybe more if some of those 23 were assigned to the 2020 class.

I also wonder if in the NIL world we can attract PWO players that can potentially do better without a scholarship at a major program then they could do at a minor school with a scholarship.

Yes you can assign players to previous class.

21 last year 29 this year, However all transfersportal or Grad. count against 25 so last years shlps were taken up by transfers proably. Then there is 85 limit.

Time will tell see in Dec.   PWO's would still fall under 85 limit.

If logo position means anything, it still is above the others.
