I remember those days, also how bout the weekly carton by Blackie Sherrod in Herald about old SWC.Back in the late 80s, when I used to get up early to buy the Dallas Morning News with a quarter - the first Thursday in February to see who we got.... Texas was the perennial brides-made for the best of the best. We could have been a dream team if we landed half of the Jesse Armstead’s who announced on signing day and came down to Texas or: Miami, Florida St, Notre Dame, et al.... This feels like that.
I’ll go with the “it’s a process” theory and “it really was a good week.” But I’ve got a foot on the proverbial ledge.
I don't blame them. I wouldn't want to play for Mackovic if I were a defensive player.Back in the late 80s, when I used to get up early to buy the Dallas Morning News with a quarter - the first Thursday in February to see who we got.... The staff felt good enough to turn Sexton away.IMO, Cam is not of the guys they were counting on in this class.
Good luck to Cam in Oregon.
I totally get and understand where you're coming from. It was exactly the same thing for me (looks like we're the same time). The main thing that is waaay different, I didn't give two craps about college football recruiting in July back then...only in February. If this was Dec-Feb, I would have one foot on the ledge with you. That's what I mean that this is a process. So much can change between now and the signing day 1.Back in the late 80s, when I used to get up early to buy the Dallas Morning News with a quarter - the first Thursday in February to see who we got.... Wow, if that is the case then Williams burned that bridge down (or would have if I was a coach with Texas). He must have told the staff something that they believed / thought it was going to be Texas. I would never let my kid do that, because you never know when that will come back to bite you in the ass.The staff felt good enough to turn Sexton away.
J Mac was coaching in the late 80's?I don't blame them. I wouldn't want to play for Mackovic if I were a defensive player.
Hudson very good chance. Robertson very good chance to be a treehugger. Two potential offensive lineman that could commit to Texas on July 2

Mac was at Illinois prior to Texas. I believe he came to Texas in the early 90's (91 or 92 sounds right) . In the 80's it was the Akers and McWilliams show.J Mac was coaching in the late 80's?
Don't put any money on that.Robertson very good chance to be a treehugger.
Your right it was David McWilliams which wasn't a good choice either.J Mac was coaching in the late 80's?
Cam was not why Sexton was turned away. The staff felt good enough to turn Sexton away.
Hey now, maybe this is the year to break the Stanford curse. Texas just did it in the Directors Cup...soHudson very good chance. Robertson very good chance to be a treehugger.
