To some extent you are what represents the virus as well. The impatient fan? Win now or get fired? The article specifically talks the issue as if its the players and culture and not the coaches as you suggest. The reference to putting a bandaid on it means the coaches dont fix the problem they just mask it. It appears Sark is determined to fix it based on the quotes.Did you like how I left out the part about firing? It's just an opinion anyway.
I still think the Big Cigars are the virus Kirk mentions.
“In order to change the culture there that has been struggling since 2010, even the last couple of years with Mack (Brown). Something got into this program that’s like a virus, and it’s permeated itself for over a decade now. So to get it done right, you can’t put a Band-Aid on this problem and a Band-Aid over there and expect it to be ‘look we’re 8-4, everything’s fine over here.’ Nope. It’s almost like a decayed tooth. You gotta really go to work on that thing.”
To be clear i do not mean to single you out, specifically. I have done the exact same thing throughout the last 3 coaching regimes. We all want to see wins. Im just mentioning this because of the "fish stink starts with the head" comment etc. We are impatient but maybe this cant be fixed with bandaids it needs to be fixed and it will be ugly before it gets better.
