Meet the 15 quarterbacks in the updated 2022 Top247

1. QUINN EWERS - COMMITTED TO TEXAS

Five-star Quinn Ewers headlines the strong 2022 quarterback crop. Ewers, who committed in mid-August to Texas, has played two games so far this season and produced big numbers. He's completed 40 of 57 pass attempts for 715 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions while completing 70.2 percent of his throws. He's also added 10 carries for 51 yards and one TD.

Ewers is a dynamic natural playmaker at the QB position. The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder will stand in the pocket to deliver accurate throws under heavy pressure, but can also break the pocket to showcase his outstanding off-schedule playmaking acumen. Ewers is the nation's No. 1 prospect in the 2022 Top247 rankings and leads the way for one of Texas' most high-profile high school programs at Southlake Carroll.

Teams off to hot starts recruiting the class of 2022

NO. 5 TEXAS

Tom Herman's seat might be getting hotter and hotter in Austin, but he still has some top-end talent committed to play for him. The Longhorn's 2022 class is headlined by five-star quarterback Quinn Ewers (picture above). The Lone Star State native and Southlake Carroll standout is not only 247Sports' No. 1-ranked prospect for the class of 2022, but he's viewed by some analysts as the top high school quarterback prospect since Trevor Lawrence. Herman and Texas also hold early commitments from two other high-profile Texas-based recruits in Port Arthur Memorial Top247 cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau and Lancaster four-star wide receiver Phaizon Wilson.

On QB Quinn Ewers of Southlake Carroll...247 confirmed there is some substance to the rumors that he may be close to opening his recruitment.

The good news is they had a source tell them the Ewers family doesn't feel there's a need to make a change until something changes on Texas' end.

However, they are hearing the decommitment rumors in recruiting circles and the one negative thing that stood out was the Ewers family going quiet, which isn't uncommon before a player makes a move.

IT chimed in and believes Texas won't hold on to Ewers at this time.

Losing games is obviously a factor, but Texas' offense hasn't been what Coach Yurcich sold him on.

TFB confirming the rumors. They think everything will calm down if we beat Okie State. In other words, we have some serious trouble now holding onto Ewers.

Class of 2022 is a long way off. New coach if there is one could reflip recruits.

Doubt if offense that Ewers is seeing is Yurcich's .

Yeah, Yurcich  sold him having an offense line that will protect him and help him with a running game that will take the pressure off him.
I doubt Yurcich sold him having to play hero ball each week and taking a lot of hits.
