That will depend on who else leaves. Its sounding like Overshown may be a hold out. Not sure how they will handle that or how many will join him.How many spaces are open for 2021 class? Who might be leaving
that is not expected to leave?
Agree. So far, we've just seen promise and potential. You'd think he'd be more of a "can't do without" player with this position.@Sirhornsalot I don't understand the Overshown situation. He is known by us, because we follow recruiting. Outside of that no one knows who he is, because he hasn't done anything on the field. It would be a bigger statement for him to play and make a name for himself to use that as a platform for his message.
The young man has every right to not play - and though I disagree with his politics I tip my hat for his conviction.Agree. So far, we've just seen promise and potential. You'd think he'd be more of a "can't do without" player with this position.
I think the things they've asked for can be done, except one or two things. Thats a victory for them and I hope they see it as one. I think many of the things they requested were quite reasonable.
It would certainly be nice to have him back.I heard that Anthony Cook is back with the team and his name has been taken out of the portal. Has anyone else heard this or have corroborating evidence to confirm? Would be nice if so.
You are 100% right. I do not necessarily agree with his position, however, I admire him for standing up for what he believes in, and risking his scholarship. It seems many people are willing to raise their hands, but not if it has a potential cost. I think perhaps like many young people he thinks the world moves faster than it does, and that the requests/demands do not need to be vetted with the rest of the campus [other student athletes, other non-athlete students (as they also matter), and, dare I say, alumni]. But that said, kudos for him taking a stand that might have negative repercussions. Few are willing to follow that lead. He has some cojones and that is not to be ignored or ridiculed. The young man has every right to not play - and though I disagree with his politics I tip my hat for his conviction.
however, I think if he chooses to not play football he should certainly lose his football scholarship which would open up another spot.
