When he commits to Florida, it won't be over. That program is in some troubled times right now. We have a good start to season, it's on.

I don't know, Mehringer is a pretty decent recruiter.

Samples' value really shows up because 1) we were not recruiting Dallas very well, and 2) Samples' father is the HC at Duncanville where there is a ton of talent. So we were getting influence simply by having him there.

Samples is very good, don't get me wrong. But some of that is a product of who he is and the connection to DV. That said, I don't want to lose that connection. Pay the guy whatever he needs. Keep him in Austin.

Well put, I didn’t know lot about it so glad you had input. I did read if it’s him leaving it may be to take over at DV as a coach in waiting type deal.

Anyone who thinks Mehringer can't recruit isn't paying attention. Not only that but he's one of the better assistant coaches we have.
