You underestimate Saban. He probably put that picture up for Xavion since he's a UT lean. If he a had been an aggie lean then it would have been an Alabama picture beating the aggies or whatever team leads for him. 

Saban looks for any advantage he can find. He's always looking at the big picture.

Well, if you're limited to Saban's personal thoughts on that strategy, yes. But if you're not – it sure looks like its a big deal to beat Texas, doesn't it? lol

Yeah, I think he said that already. Saban is not God. God would have considered the fact that Saban just gave Texas a huge amount of credit – AND DIDN'T HAVE TO.

For a fan base that knows the Horns down is still publicity, I'm surprised to point this out a second time.

The reason is that was Saban's first National Champion at Alabama. He had won a NC at LSU, however I don't think it would go over too well if he had that picture on his wall.

I do agree it's a big deal to beat Texas because we are hated.

The hype surrounding Texas wide receiver Bru McCoy is immense, especially considering how his first few months of college football played out.

The 5-star athlete committed to the USC Trojans at the All-America Bowl, enrolling in school a short time later. It didn't take long for him to change his mind.

After offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury left for the Arizona Cardinals in January, McCoy transferred to Texas, a school that finished runner-up for his services the first time. 

Now, there's optimism McCoy will get an NCAA hardship waiver to play immediately, much like what happened with Ohio State's Justin Fields and Miami's Tate Martell. If that happens, Texas will get an instant-impact stud.

The Longhorns are integrating McCoy into the offense this spring with hopes he'll be ready. If so, there's a good chance he'll be in the rotation if not a starting weapon for quarterback Sam Ehlinger. With Lil'Jordan Humphrey gone, there are receptions to go around.

Coach Tom Herman can't stop gushing about McCoy.

"You should see the kid in the weight room," Herman told 247Sports' Jeff Howe. "He's grunting and groaning and screaming. He's not afraid to work," also mentioning McCoy is "just a great kid that happens to be a 5-star athlete."

It's not just lip service. McCoy is a physically gifted talent and is ready to be a star. If the NCAA ruling is favorable, he will be.

Ask Farrell: Can Texas A&M sustain its in-state momentum?

The state of Texas has become ground zero for recruiting battles as Oklahoma remains a national power, Texas is trying to re-emerge as one, Texas A&M is quickly rebuilding under coach Jimbo Fisher and LSU among others have had tremendous success recruiting there.

If everything is bigger in Texas, so are the efforts made to land the state’s best players especially with Lincoln Riley, Tom Herman, Fisher and many other high-profile coaches competing against each other for five- and four-star studs.

Last recruiting cycle, the Sooners had tremendous success in Texas especially landing five-star receivers 


Theo Wease
 and 

Trejan Bridges
 along with numerous four-stars.

The Longhorns failed to land any of the state’s top seven prospects, but four-star athlete 

Jordan Whittington
 could be a game-changer and Texas finished with the fourth-best class nationally behind only Georgia, Alabama and LSU. Fittingly, Oklahoma and Texas A&M were right behind the Longhorns.

Texas A&M had a great haul as well especially with in-state prospects. The Aggies landed the state’s top player in five-star defensive end 

DeMarvin Leal
 and they were the only team to have three signees among the top six as five-star offensive lineman 

Kenyon Green
 and five-star defensive back 

Erick Young
 were also in the fold.

We ask Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell whether he thinks Texas A&M won the state last recruiting cycle and whether the Aggies could continue that level of dominance with their 2020 class?

“I’d give the edge to Texas A&M when it comes to last year’s in-state recruiting but not by much. Oklahoma did a great job recruiting out of state in Texas and the Longhorns added some serious talent as well, but the Aggies have the edge. Will that continue? I have no idea. This is going to be one of the best recruiting battles to follow and the state of Texas is up for grabs. All of the coaches, including Ed Orgeron at LSU, are great recruiters and it’s anyone’s state. My gut says Texas will overtake the state in 2020 and beyond, but the competition is fierce.”

This sucks. Defensive line are the hardest to recruit. There's not enough to go around.

I checked and Clemson has commitments from 3 out of the top 7 DT and Alabama has commitments from 2 out of the top 4 DE.
