Texas misses the cut in Marquez Beason’s top 4. LSU, Ohio State, A&M, and Illinois. One of these is not like the other.
About a handful of kids in this class that have a lot of question marks IMO.  You guys know who they are and we may be better in the long run not pursuing these kids.  Multiple decommits and such usually result in Justin Watkins and Jordan Elliot type players.

The Lovie Smith factor. Grew up and played at Big Sandy, strong Texas ties, NFL playing/coaching experience. Plus, he's a heckuva coach though no one will ever know that by his results at Illinois.

By the way, I'm officially on the Ainias Smith train. Kid has speed and skills. He could be a good slot option for us.

BTW, watch how far off Wolfe plays him. You can't even call it coverage until the very end. lol

Shepherd measured in at 6’6, 319 today in Houston. Great tackle measurables.

Meanwhile Kenyon Green came in at 6’4, 317. Borderline tackle measurables. Wonder what his arm length is. Could end up being a guard long term.
So Shepherds two extra inches of height give hive him great  measurables vs Green being borderline at tackle? Is that difference really that big of a deal?  I'm no expert...just wondering what the major impact is as they are approx the same weight.

Weight is not a big deal in this respect. Connor Williams was starting for us at 288 lbs his frosh year.

Its body style, build. Shepherd has the height, but also the wingspan, long legs and big hips you like in a OT. Green is just friggin big.

Measurables play an important factor when it comes to a guy being able to stick at tackle. If you are on the shorter side then you better have very long arms and great feet.

EJ says Whittington has once again pushed back his decision date to commit.

We are all happy with the 2018 class just weeks ago and now we are all worried about 2019 class and its not even March 1st 2018?  ;)

These kids can commit early but there is a long ways to go.   On field performance will determine the 2019 class.

Herman and this team needs to deliver on the field.

Was that a vague reference to the annual morphing of the aggy recruiting class into a retail outlet? lol

Did Roschon Johnson not compete at the Houston Opening?  Haven't seen his name mentioned at all.
