Will try to get one together this week. So far it’s been a good chunk of the class that’s already committed.

There it is! I've been waiting for the "he needs to get his people in here" excuse. That just doesn't fly man. Following that logic we won't really know for three years. No, he needs to turn things around next year. And if he doesn't he'll deserve to be on the hot seat. There are examples all over college football of new coaches turning things around. Don't tell me they were all stacked with talent and just needed the right fit. Coaching matters. We deserve nothing less. 

It flies very well.

I hear you, but I'l be excited if they can hold onto what they have.  Amari Gainer is visiting Texas this weekend so there is a possibility.

The biggest thing Jimbo is doing right now is adding coaches to his staff that are known cheater. Also Jimbo met with the head of the Houston fast 7 on 7 coach this morning... Aggie about to go full street agent recruiting.... This will be the 1980's all over again... They are defiantly all in.... Bagmen about to hit Texas hard..

Was he carrying a brown bag? Stuffed with crab legs no doubt.

So far only committed guys have publicly declared visits for this weekend.  Doesn’t mean uncommitted guys couldn’t eventually be squeezed in by Friday.

i know y’all are on edge about commitments, but try to remain patient. The staff did a lot of its lifting during the spring and summer.

Recruiting and getting "your players in" who fit your system, etc... is no doubt important.  But I would submit that when you get the "right coach" in place, effects are typically seen sooner, not later.  You don't have to travel outside of Texas for a sample size.  Below is a sample of our recent coaches and the record the year prior to their arrival vs the record of their first season at Texas:

Fred Akers:  5-5-1 / 11-1
Mack Brown:  4-7 / 9-3

Others

David McWilliams:  5-6 / 7-5
John Macovick:  5-6 / 6-5
Charlie Strong:  8-5 / 6-7

One more (gulp):

Tom Herman:  5-7 / 6-6

Keep recruiting Tom.... get "your guys" in here and change the culture.

Hey, I'm all in on Tom Herman but I absolutely loathe the "get your guys in here" thing. 

From the minute you step on campus as a new coach, the guys that are already there become your guys, period!

It's the ultimate reason given by almost every new coach or fan base when year one doesn't go as planned.

A 6'6" 315 lb OT that can move is everybody's guy regardless of what system they ran in HS or the system they will run in college.

Any 5 star recruit, regardless of position, will receive offers from the big programs. If there really were "your guys" we would not recruit head to head with Alabama and LSU for offensive players since we run different schemes.
