Only worry with Thompson is if Cameron Rising flips from OU ( he doesn't seem like a very solid commit ) is that Thompson would flip to OU.

On a side note I'd love to get Rising if possible. Justin Rogers seems like the type that if he committed here he'd bolt for LSU last minute.
Thompson doesn't strike me as that kind of kid. He wants to be all in on the school decides on and seems to be pretty level headed when it comes to the decision process.

Sounds like you're suffering from Perrilouitis.

Rogers doesn't strike me as a Perriloux type. Ryan Periloux was one of the most unstable recruitments I've ever seen. He would say and do all the right things when in Austin or around Texas coaches. Then say and do the opposite when they weren't around. Bizarre.

Rogers seems like a kid who is far more rational. Texas has time to make up ground lost. Rogers probably felt Texas would have done some homework (or at least more than they did) before he arrived in Austin, leaving him thinking he wasn't well thought of or perhaps that UT doesn't have its shite together.

Take Thompson and keep pursuing Rogers and Rising. Take the first of the two who commits. If neither commit, drop in on a lower ranked QB late. Thats how I'd do it.

Looks like we may be in a good spot with Jalen Green, their have been some CB movement for us and a flip pick as well.

That 5-man DB haul of Foster, Cook, Green, Jamison, O'Neal may become a reality if Herman gets it done on the field.

Also, really want Overshown as an OLB. Think he could be a terror coming off the edge and also dropping in coverage.

A&M and LSU have apparently slowed down their recruitment on Green, which I find odd and most cases would be a red flag. Apparently things have looked into and the staff feels comfortable proceeding forward with him.

Texas went from having to play catchup to a favorable position this spring despite not being on him sooner.

Any idea why those 2 schools may have slowed down? I could see maybe LSU because of maybe getting the Surtain kid and already having several DB commits. Aggy may not be much of surprise considering they foul up a lot of recruitments and they seem to favor McKinley. Still, seems like Green has been right with Cook at most of the camps and stuff as a top performing CB.

Not sure why they backed off, but Texas could certainly benefit from it.

I'm hearing we're about to get two commits. One is Thompson. My guy won't speak on the other.

Keep in mind, Thompson is the QB for the Houston 7-7 team that has the Lamar kids on it.

Another guy I know says there might be a third.

Jaylen Waddle, Brennan Eagles, the Lamar trio, plus many others on that 7 on 7 team. Won't be a bad thing to have Thompson in their ears.

Daniel do you think Thompson pulls the trigger to us on Thursday? Also rumor is they may be a few more commits around the spring game. Any speculation who that might be?

Man I am excited about the possibility of a Casey Thompson commit. He checks all the boxes for me.  I love his film.  Im sure not a QB guru but he looks like a perfect fit for what the Longhorns are trying to do with this offense.  Game film is much more impressive to me than Justin Rogers.  Thompson's intangibles are off the charts for me.  Football IQ, Pedigree, film rat,  He seems to have NFL work/study ethic modeled by his older brother who plays for Washington Redskins.  Seems to be a great kid who should  know well the dangers of the college football life.  (His father Charles who was ultimately imprisoned for problems encountered while playing at Oklahoma is a great redemptive story and is now a successful business man and motivational speaker)  In QB recruitment there is no sure thing, there are long lists of very physically talented players who couldn't make the transition to the next level, but I really like this kids chances to be successful.

I think it will be Texas, based off what we've heard.

As far as potential commits goes, there has been chatter about others committing this spring and summer, but I don't like to speculate because things can change in a heart beat.

He's a high floor take for sure and the only reservation I have is in regards to his arm strength and ability to push the ball down the field.
