2018 Recruiting Board/Thread

Coburn is interesting. He doesn't have the length and leanness that the staff wants up front on DL. I see now why they are ramping it up with Bobby Brown as he is more of what the coaches want up front.

This list is based on the 247 composite recruiting rankings for the state of Texas.

Based on all the info at OB, twitter, and all the other Texas sites I think this how recruiting looks today. And yes there is a long way to go but the trend is very good for Texas.

Discuss..

1. Anthony Cook: Texas lean

2. BJ Foster: HEAVY Texas lean

3. Brennan Eagles: HEAVY Texas lean

4. Caden Sterns: Texas commit

5. Jalen Preston: LSU lean (Is Texas recruiting him that hard?)

6. Jalen Green: Texas lean

7. Al"Vonte Woodard: Texas lean

8. Leon O' Neal: HEAVY aggy lean

9. Max Wright: Aggy lean

10. Mustapha Muhammad: Michigan lean

11. Keondre Coburn: Texas leads (Updated)

12. Jaylen Waddle: Slight Texas lead

13. DeMarvion Overshawn: HEAVY Texas lean

14. Atanza Vonger: TCU commit

15. D'Shawn Jamison HEAVY Texas lean

16 Darrel Simpson: OU lean

17. . Malcolm Epps HEAVY Texas lean

18. Bobby Brown: Texas & OU battle. Maybe aggy too

19: Tommy Bush: Probably Baylor

20. Luke Mathews: Aggy commit
Agree with all of this except Cook. I believe he is leaning towards tOSU. He may jump on board later but right now I feel he's not coming here. Long way to go though

Texas A&M finally got around to offering D'Shawn Jamison.

Saw some CB's for Crawford to OU tonight. Any idea what else that might indicate, Daniel? I know it's difficult to predict the moves Herman & Co. make.

I don't think they are pushing for Crawford very hard. He may not have a commitable offer. I was told he started talking to aggy again.

Not going to matter who the other 8 schools are. It's Texas, A&M, and then everyone else IMO. Despite public comments, I will be surprised if it isn't A&M when he decides.

Doesn't matter, he's a guy Herman can probably flip on NSD if he wants to.

Hamm has been saying Wright and O'Neal were almost ready to commit for weeks now and is now saying they have pushed things back. The longer this plays out the better for us.

I think for Wright it may be good for Texas (still think ATM is in the driver as of today). A lot can change during the season and ATM could go into disarray. AS far as O'Neal, I think the writing is on the wall of him looking elsewhere with Sterns in the fold and Foster being a heavy, heavy Longhorn lean.

If Wright goes to aggy I think we got the better of the SDE in Tatum. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have Wright to cause' we need bodies up front. I think he will end up being rated higher than Wright when it's all said and done. Rivals has said he's due for a big bump and Wiltfong on 247 recently said he may be a 5* with a good showing in Oregon.

2019 is a really good year in Texas for linemen ( offense and defense ). We have a good year and we'll get whoever we want.
