In what can be filed in the "we knew this would happen" category, Eno Benjamin decommitts from Iowa. Cue the decommittment of Chevin Calloway in 3, 2, 1........

We will get a couple of good pickups this cycle but it really doesn't matter. We have two very strong classes(pardon the pun) and they will be starting for the next two years. Get a great coach now, we will have a veteran roster and could clean up in 2018

Any good reports on recruits based on the 2 wins against Baylor and Tech?
Couldn't have hurt anything coupled with the aggy meltdown. Just need to keep winning, aggy is good for another, possibly 2 losses. We win out and they lose to LSU and Ole Miss nobody will give a shit about going their, except maybe Hines, hopefully he can see the light, they have brought out the pitchforks on gigem247 saying LB play is terrible with bad coaching.
Also, I hope Damion Miller takes a real hard look at who will be throwing him passes between the 2 programs if he is indeed considering aggy.

Nobody expected them to lose to Miss State. So I don't count out anything left on their schedule.

A tell tell sign. I know Strong recruits late but there has been less contact with recruits. Now they are choosimg other schools... hmmmmmm

carson states he's still committed

i don't have a twitter account so i can't post the original

Hearing Baron Browning may be pushing back his commitment from tomorrow to a later date. Does that mean texas is still in play?

Also hearing Texas is meeting with Eno Benjamin tomorrow and that Toniel Carter may have interest in Texas now.

I'm sure Herman has been in his ear recently

Gesssss, last years errrbody party was spectacular. I can't imagine what's In store for us over the next few weeks amongst staff hires, reactions from the current team, transfers, and recruiting.

Eno Benjamin: In less than a week of Tom Herman being the Texas HC, we have more movement when it comes to RB recruiting than we’ve seen in the last 6 months of Charlie Strong’s tenure. Wylie East (TX) RB Eno Benjamin is receiving a close look by Herman and his staff. Benjamin told me OL coach Derek Warehime reached out to him yesterday to express the new staff’s interest in him. I was also told that Warehime will be in area to visit Benjamin today, and a possible offer could be extended. I would expect a Texas offer would put the Longhorns at the top of his list. I’ve said multiple times that I’m not sold on Benjamin’s speed at the next level, but that there isn’t a thing a RB does that he doesn’t do very well. He may not pop off the screen like a JK Dobbins has, but he’s solid all-around back that get’s the job done.

Benjamin held an offer from Herman when he was at Houston, so the they are familiar with his game. Right now Benjamin plans to commit on January 7th at the US Army All-American Game. I’m not sure if that would change if Texas offers. Benjamin is close with Texas commits Kobe Boyce, Josh Thompson, and Sam Ehlinger. He’s very well liked and respected by other recruits in the DFW area as well, and he’s not a bad guy to help recruit for the team he’s committed to. Heck, he got five other recruits from the state of Texas to commit to Iowa with him. That’s pretty impressive if you ask me. But this is someone that we will continue to keep an eye on if an offer is extended. – (Andrew)

Timarcus Davis: If you’re looking for a current Houston commit that could, and in my opinion absolutely should, get a look from the new Texas staff, look no further than 2017 CB Timarcus Davis (College Station, TX).

Davis mother tells me that new DB coach, Jason Washington, has reached out to let them know he will make an in-home visit with Davis this upcoming Friday.

Davis was unable to play his senior year due to an ACL tear but I love his junior film. He is perhaps the most explosive cornerback in Texas. Some of you may have seen that Davis jumped nearly 46 inches at the Nike SPARQ combine in Houston!

Davis will need to add some weight but that is no different than most high school defensive backs. Davis’ explosion and COD is just too impressive to pass up in my opinion. There’s a play on his junior film (which is now set to private) where he defends a double move and is never once stacked through the route. It’s some Jason Verrett type stuff. Amazed me. I had long hoped coach Strong would offer him. Perhaps Tom Herman will do so…again. – (Super K)
