2017 Recruiting Thread Part 1

My point was that kids were obviously interested despite the results still lacking coming into the season. Kids loved Charlie and wanted to play for him.
You seem to be forgetting that this year did in fact happen. And it was all on Charlie. Our recruiting had already tanked before he was fired. His staying would not of have helped matters.

"Recruits were still prepared to give Texas and Strong a shot until this season derailed despite what happened in the previous two. "

That's my point. This season did happen. Three strikes and you're out.

The recruiting class was going to be bad with Charlie Strong. It may or may not be better with Herman.
I'm not even arguing that it wouldn't have been bad if Charlie was still here and not even disagreeing that he needed to go. There was no way he could stay after this season and the constant talk of him being fired.

OK I get that. For some reason it sounded to me you were saying the recruiting was going to be bad because Charlie was fired. The real reason the recruiting was going to be bad was because we were having our third straight shit season. And of course that's why he was fired.

I think you have confused with what I said as advocating to keep Charlie and I'm not doing that at all. And no I haven't forgotten that the season happened.

Nooooooo sir. I'm glad we are on the same page now because that's not what I was driving at all lol.

I've heard we're trending up for Walker Little
If Herman can close with Little, Chaisson, and Wilson then I don't see how anybody could not be happy, that's probably best case scenario. That idiot Hamm on gigem says Texas is completely out of it for Wilson but we all know how that goes. You add those 3 to what we have now + a couple other pieces and win on the field, 2018 will be big time. Yes it sucks not to land 1 of Browning/Hines/Moses. Wish we would circle back to Josh Clarke at OLB. Dobbins has been a weird recruitment from the get go. Any guesses who the 1st 2018 OL to get offered will be???

Thing that worries me the most about Wilson is him and his family really loved Charlie. I'm not sure they have the same affinity for new staff despite being in close proximity in Bellaire.

Another note, just remember, all these kids that went to LSU last year, are committed now ( Deculus, Vincent, Netherly ), and could commit like Wilson, we will be facing these guys in a couple years with the home and home with LSU.

Horns need a commitment to start the ball rolling and gain some momentum. Any chance of someone, anyone, pulling the trigger soon?

Personally, I don't see a commit until the coordinators are in place. Maybe on offense since Herman is in effect running it, but not on defense.

I was hoping Chaisson might be a candidate for that role. Have we still not offered Eno Benjamin yet?

Best guess would be Chaisson, but as long as North Shore is in the playoffs that is on the back burner. Gotta watch out for LSU as well.
