This is a badass pictureThank you, Big Daddy. Terrific post and contribution!!
I have an insight now what's going on. If I'm right, and if it really works out that way... will be a statement and a turning point in collegiate athletics.
Will say no more than that for now. Keep the energy in it.

You think we have an excellent shot at both of them or one of them?Ok, since it's Christmas and we're in the giving spirit . . . there is a highly regarded prospect with genuine, real interest in coming to Texas. This has been something on the down-low but has been on our radar for some time.
This represents one of two "big fish" candidates that I've heard have reached out to Texas. In both cases, we've had repeated contact before but the relationship in both cases simply bloomed late.
I will only speak to one of the two in this post. If this guy comes, and there's a real shot that he does, we will have gotten that prototypical DB that we thought we had in Obi Eboh. If you're thinking of a name you've seen recently, then you're wrong.
Got a friend who reached out to me tonight with some info on this deal of his own, but on that side of the equation. It jives with what I've been sitting on. So I post it now with a little more confidence. Since this cat has been talked about NOWHERE, I just thought it was kinda pie in the sky when I first heard it. But like I've said, I keep hearing it.
I got a good feeling we're in for some good display of some nsd asswhippinThis is a badass picture
Now you got my wheels churning a bit. If we are talking a legit big fish here there are only a few names that fit that bill.Ok, since it's Christmas and we're in the giving spirit . . . there is a highly regarded prospect with genuine, real interest in coming to Texas. 1. Yes on JMad, no it wasn't a "name I've seen recently." I said if its a name you've heard recently, then thats not who it is.I assume the other "big fish" candidate was J-Mad and the "name you've seen recently" is Kristian Fulton?
I know you can't say who your guy is, but my guess is Jared Mayden. Apparently someone on shaggy was talking about a secret "big fish" recruit from the DFW area, and Mayden is from Sachse. He's a high 4* CB (which fits the prototypical CB profile), and he just decommitted from Oregon a few weeks ago.
You think we have an excellent shot at both of them or one of them?
Could you give us a hint what position the big fish is?I have sat on this one for a while and not shared it because it was something I didn't have much faith in. But at some point you just post it because it's not limited to your own comprehension and it just keeps popping up.
My friend told me weeks before it started getting circulated that Hudson wasn't a foregone thing to Baylor. I didn't believe him. He laughed at me.
This stuff can literally make your head hurt. I think an interesting thread one day will be a WHO'S THE BETTER RECRUITER? CHARLIE OR MACK? I'm not sure I can just give that title to Mack anymore.
JMad is just not getting traction. There was some mild interest, but it went nowhere.
As far as who is the better recruiter? Mack or Strong. Hands DOWN it's CS..He has brought a whole different attitude era in recruiting to a new levelI have sat on this one for a while and not shared it because it was something I didn't have much faith in. Thanks SHA. This was also brought up during our conversation. This is actually what is driving the coaches into thinking that we have more players in play that spots. He mentioned that not only did we have a couple of big time recruits interested, but also some others that are underrated is his opinion. They are probably not takes with spots limited, but good plan b type players in the event that something happens. Did mention that the couple highly rated guys are takes if it materializes into anything more.Ok, since it's Christmas and we're in the giving spirit . . . there is a highly regarded prospect with genuine, real interest in coming to Texas. Something tells me they all going in together one by one
Fulton is a 5-star and was rumored to be trying to get in a month or so ago
Texas kids generally are popping up at Ol Miss. it's an alternative school for alot of people who cant get into Texas. This began before aggy went SECSEC. But more now. I have some neighbors who are connected to Beaumont movers and shakers and alot of kids from that area (the Golden Triangle) are going there now.
- Ole mi$$ came up and an interesting little note - Said that a couple of acquaintances of his (VIP types, former pro athletes) have sons/daughters accepted into the school w/o ever applying. Just randomly received an acceptance letter. In one case the son is not an athlete and the dad has virtually no connection to the school. He did some digging and found a couple of other influential people in his circles that had the same happen to them. Apparently this is their marketing strategy to get more $ and influence to the school. When I asked if it worked, he said half of them are there now. Don't know if anyone else does this, but it's the 1st I heard of it. Makes you wonder what they do with 4 and 5 star athletes.
