Herman and UH Cougars had 3 scores in the 4th Quarter to beat #21 Memphis to stay undefeated 10-0.

Done with the 3rd string QB who was a WR at start of the season and only expected to play during mop up duty.

UH's offense is Hermans not Major Applewhites.

Graduatiing three and signing two will really build an OL.

Hope Heard can improve maybe win five games. Then if he gets as good as Mayfield wins eight or nine.

I think the Horns sign Delance and maybe one more (possibly Shackleford). So, they lose Doyle and Flowers. I know they also lose Hutchins, but that's addition by subtraction. I would say 3-4 guys in this class is building the line to go along with the 4 Freshman from 2015. Keep getting 3-4 per year and you're building a line. That's just my opinion, but it makes sense to me.

OFFERED TUESDAY (11-17)

Lavert Hill ..... Detroit Martin Luther King (Detroit, MI)
4-star ..... CB/WR ..... 5-11/175 ..... State Penn commit

Hudl lists him with a 4.39/40 and its video for this Army All-American shows his ability to press and make plays + avoid getting fooled by the doomedable head fakes :)

. Even his two PIs demonstrate his aggressiveness and will be coach-corrective at the next level.

Donnie Corley ..... Detroit Martin Luther King (Detroit, MI)
4-star ..... WR/CB ..... 6-2.5/182

This Army All-American is currently a MichState lean. His extremely short 2014 Hudl highlights highlight his need to work on high pointing and catching with his hands. If those two things have improved this year (which the latest Scout report indicates they have), then a 4-star rating could be justified.

3-Star Athlete and football novice Kelvin Lucky has set up an OV for Jan 30th.  Big pickup if we can get him to sign.  Superb athlete who could play DE, Fox, OLB, or TE.

Texas has offered 4-star JUCO QB Jerod Evans of Trinity Valley CC (formerly of Mansfield TX).  Evans is the top rated dual-threat JUCO QB in the country.  Coach Traylor reached out to Evans a couple of days ago, and offered him yesterday.

Jerod Evans was unranked out of high school and signed with Air Force after a year at prep school.  He tore his ACL his freshman year and eventually transferred out to CC.

Evans has offers from California and UAB - Oregon and Auburn have also shown interest recently.

Evans will have two years to play two.

Some sites are insinuating that Locksley is unhappy and looking to transfer...have you read anything on this?

I haven't seen anything saying he would look to transfer.  Everyone knew he was going to redshirt if he wanted to play QB - I'm pretty sure it was reported that was one of the reasons he flipped to us.

Maybe he's tied to Watson and wouldn't want to stick around if Watson isn't here.  Apparently Mike Locksley is a big fan of Watson.

If he does stick around - he'll have every opportunity to win the job next year - I imagine its going to be a wide-open competition, and may the best man win.  If he doesn't win the starting job, maybe he's amenable to playing WR for a season or two while he waits his turn.

My bad - I thought I had read that Texas offered Evans - but thats not true.  Traylor has been in contact with Evans and asked about him visiting - but there has been no offer yet.

Locksley set himself up for disappointment. He legitimately thought that he'd be competing with Heard to start this year when it was readily apparent he wouldn't be. I think everyone outside of Kai thought he could use a redshirt year. Coming from someone who thinks the kid has a ton of potential.

Or he sees the writing on the wall with Shane Buechele enrolling in January. I think we all know that Buechele is going to get a ton of reps in the spring, as will Heard and perhaps Swoopes, although I see a move to TE for Swoopes as a possibility if Clarington does not make it in. So where does that leave Locksley?

I don't think we could possibly know who will be getting the reps until we know who the OC is.  And if we get the JUCO QB Evans I expect he will have the inside track to most of the reps.

Really though - I have to believe they are going to open up the competition to everyone on scholarship.  Shane, Jerrod, Kai, Tyrone, and possibly Jerod are all going to have an opportunity to win the job for whatever OC is running things.

I really don't see them giving Ty a shot at taking the reigns as he'll be a senior and they know he's not the answer.

But, yeah, it should be wide open for the other 3 (4 if the JUCO guy is there).

Sorry if this has already posted in this thread.

But someone needs to post the video highlights of the QB at Lucky's high school. Holy Cow! I don't know if he's the best high school senior QB in the nation but he's damn close. I think his name is Nathan Rourke and the high school is Edgewood Academy somewhere in Alabama. He's from Canada and moved there for his senior years. Something like 56 touchdown passes in 12 games!
